I have read some archived posts about what weight oil to use in the Summer. I know FORD switched to 5w20 in many vehicles, but talking to my friends in the service department, they said that the engines are burning up with this thin oil.
I think that it may be best for me to ask the ACURA dealer to use 5w30 for this Texas heat of 100+. I was also wondering if it is a good idea to mix 5w20 with 5w30. Like pour in one quart of Synthetic 5w20 and ask them to use the rest as 5w30. Dunno....any opinions on this summer time oil question?? |
