Is it a good idea to lube the suspension bushings once in a while ?
I have always heard that they dont need lube and all the service shops and dealers never really lube them - even if they say "lube chassis" in the coupon.
Recently I had some noise from the front end (and a squeak in the accord when going over bumps), so I bought can of lithium grease spray and just quickly sprayed it on almost every bushing and joint that I could see and have easy access to, on both the MDX & the Accord. I wasn't expecting this but the ride quality on bumps and road imperfections improved noticeably on both!
Maybe if I'd done a thorough job I might have seen even better results.
If it really does help lubing the bushings and joints then why isn't it included as part of service ?? Or is it a "request only" item again ? |

If the need to be lubed they will have a zerk fitting so that you can use a grease gun.
