I have a huge bubbly in my rearview mirror and have lost the capabilities of day/night dimming function. Acura says it is not under warranty, even the extended.

I was told that these parts last no more than 5 years. I have an 01 MDX by the way. Is anyone or has anyone faced a siimilar issue??

Not sure what u mean by "bubbly" but I did just replace my inside review mirror because it wouldn`t stay in postion , kept slipping .

What I mean is that there is a bubble inside my mirror. Literally, like a glob of something that changes shape and size from day to day. I will try to post pictures of it soon on this thread

It sounds like the same problem I've been having for some time now (see my posts in the other linked thread). A big blob of lcd stuff sort of dims the midsection of the mirror, but not around the edges. Blob was the word I used to describe it, not bubble.

Like I said in the other thread. If someone totals their MDX, please remove the mirror carefully and send it to me. Thanks.

Few weeks ago I noticed a viscous fluid abt to drip from the on/off button. My mirror remained in various states of haziness puncutated by clear areas one might call bubbles.

Anyway, even though we were 4 months past warrenty, they replaced the mirror for labor only. In return, I let them do my 45K service.

They say they've never had to replace a mirror for this problem.

Dumb. They should be forced to replace something that shouldn't break and is a safety issue. Glad they met you sort of halfway.

Maybe I have a bad one, but that auto-dimming feature doesn't really work that great anyway.

I have the same thing. It just started a few days ago. I guess it's time to give the car to my husband and get a new one. :D
