Going to pick out an X tomorrow at dealership. We have already settled on price via Internet, unless it goes sideways once I get there.
Anyway, they will likely need a day or two to install a few things. What is an acceptable deposit with a signed buy order? I have read elsewhere 1% of total purchase price.

4 years ago I left a personal check for $500 that was never cashed for the "deposit" on a new X I had to wait 3 weeks to come in. With a signed
purchase order you shouldn't need to leave much. |

I've left deposits ranging from $0 to $500 depending on the demand of the vehicle and my relationship with the dealership. Make sure to ammend the contract to say that the deposit is refundable if it states that it is not. |

If there is any deposit, and in your case, where the dealer has not asked for a deposit, there should not be, expect between $500 and $1,000.
Make sure it is refundable!
