| Everytime I go for a service at the Acura dealership, they clean my X using their power washer. I am afraid that this could easily ruin the paint. Do you allow them to clean your X with this? |

I see nothing wrong with using a power washer to knock the grime off the vehicle. Have been known to do it myself. If a high power washer is held in one spot for a long time it could possible erode the paint/clear coat surface. However, the rapid pace that a washer is used on a vehicle should pose no problem.

| Most touchless car washes are high pressure. It depends on how they use it and they power of the pressure washer. As G noted, too high a pressure for too long a time will peel the paint. I'm picky and tell my dealer not to bother washing the vehicle after service. They usually do a crappy job anyway. If you are concerned about the pressure washer, then talk to the person doing the washing and make sure they know they are doing. I'm sure if there were a lot of damage complaints then the dealership would not do it that way. |

Most power washers don't have the pressure to do any real damage to factory paint. In between regular full car washes I drive through a "Touch less" to get the road film off, this is whats deadly to your finish. Road film and other vehicles tire spray is full of diesel, gas oil and dirt that erode your finish dramatically. Get it off ASAP.
