If you want a vehicle capable of off-roading then buy the Grand Cherokee. If you want a vehicle with a much better on-road ride then buy the MDX. The GC is smaller inside and only seats 5 and it's reliability is near the bottom of it's class. |

The JGC is a LOT smaller for the 2nd row, so if you ever have people back there the MDX would be more comfortable.
Otherwise like JL_SS said, the JGC is a truck and has far more off road capability if that is what you want. |

The Jeep can also tow about twice as much as the MDX (over 7000 lbs).
The strengths of these two vehicles are so different that I wouldn't expect most informed people to be cross shopping them. My MDX is 100x more comfortable on-road than my Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, but if I had to pick one to hit a bowling-ball sized boulder at 50mph and not get bent, it would be the Jeep. |

Thank you guys for the information, which further confirms my decision - buy a MDX!!
I initially thought I need a tough one to go ski, surfing, fishing - later I figured out I don't need much off-road capability for that, right? :D
MDX can handle my needs, plus I don't have serious towing need.
Thanks again guys :2: |
