| I would strongly suggest NOT washing it or going thru a carwash with the bra on. It may leave watermarks/streaks that are tough to get out. |

First, that mask is not leather.
The problem with washing with it on is that all the dirt, grit and grime is going to accumulate unter the mask. The mask is going to move as the vehicle moves. Over time this is going to damage the paint under the mask.

No offense but the "bras" do more damage than good.
The new protective films from 3M etc. work great and they are invisible. No more "yellowing" with the new films and vitually no noticeable lines. |

I agree with Echo, vinyl bras are a thing of the past, they're an eyesore and they end up damaging your paint.
I have had the invisible bra (3M paint protection film) on my MDX for 2 years now and its definitely worth it. Being able to drive on highways and not worry at all about road debris, bugs and rock chips is well worth a few hundred dollars in my opinion. No extra maintenance, 5 year warranty, doesn't alter the appearance of the car and it doesn't damage the paint!
Here is a How-To I did on PPF, there is a link to an instructional video clip of an MDX install in there that might be helpful if you want to know more about it:

I have had no problem with using the bra; I guess it can be a problem depending on the color of your car and the amount of time you keep it on without cleaning underneath. Personally, I put the bra on at the first sign of those god forsaken Lovebugs (in Florida) and don't take it off 'till all the summer bugs start dissappearing. Have never had a problem. DO NOT KEEP bras on for years on end; then you really are asking for trouble.
I find no problems in going through the wash with it on BTW. I don't think you'll run into a problem using the bra for a few months out of the year. |

My experience has been similar. I don't use it that much except during bug season which can be torturous around these parts.
But keeping both the inside of the bra as well as the car clean, I have never had a problem.
Cleaning it well before installilng is essential. I use the FormFit bug deflector on the hood so forgo the top part of the bra, and only use the part that covers the grill and bumper. Plus, I have the covers for the mirrors.
If you get caught in a rainstorm, etc. so be it. It is not going to instantly ruin your paintjob. When you get home take it off, and clean up the car, as well as the bra.
If I had an invisible bra, I would probably still use it during the heaviest bug time for no other reason than sparing the labor of extensive cleaning. There is a screen on the cover that protects a major part of the radiator from being bombarded also. |

yeah i use the bra just to cover up the rock chips on the bumper, i would go for the invisible one but theres no point then.. i guess ill keep it on for awhile and see how it turns out. Maybe ill just get the bumper painted if it gets bad.
thanks guys |
