I've been having a problem with my navi and trip computer in the dash for a few months now.
The navi gets confused quite frequently as to where it is. This happens either on startup or sometimes after everything is going fine while driving for a while. The little green lights that indicate signal strength are all green when this happens. I have noticed that sometims on startup it takes a while for the green signal strenght lights to appear.
Once it's "lost", it may or may not recover. It seems completely random, which drives my wife crazy when she's trying to get somewhere. Has anyone else heard of this or know what the problem may be?
Also, the trip computer in the navi/console unit no longer agrees with the odometer in the dash. 50 actual miles (according to the dashboard odometer) could be 50 or 42.8 or 47 38.6 or whatever. The ratio is not consistent. The offset is reflected in the mpg calculation in the trip computer.
If anyone knows what could cause these problems or how to fix them, I'd appreciate any advice. I really would like a find a way that I don't have to hear the dreaded "we can order you another navi/trip computer unit.....". I still need to be able to pay my other bills.
Thanks.

| don't know about the NAVI freak'n out. But, the trip odometer and the NAVI trip odometer are off because we swapped out our rims for 20" rims and had to get taller tires for the 20" rims... Have you changed the size of your tires lately? |

I have not changed the size of the rims or tires. I've bought new tires, but they were the CrossTerrains -- same size as what was originally on the vehicle.
