Hey all, this is my first post here, looks like a great forum you got here. Click on the link below to check out some pics of my new MDX, "Angus" :)

Thanks for the pics.. But because of the color of the background on that webpage, the MDX appears to be in black and white! :) Go for a lighter color so you have a contrast..

Thanks!
GatorGreg
Sorry about that Genemish. Yes those pics are in black and white. I'd like to say I was being "artsy" but I think my cat chewed up my S-Video cable or something. The video showed up in color but when loaded into the WebTV it turned up B&W. That's the first time that's ever happened. I will get a new cord and try again soon.

No problem.. Just can't look at an MDX in black and white.. it's such a beautiful car! :)

Hey GatorGreg,

Are you going to get a UF plate on your MDX?

I got a FSU plate on mine, and it looks nice. Of course I think that a FSU plate would look better, but I don't think that is happening for you.

Welcome aboard. I see the potential for some good off topic conversations in a couple of months.
jliveMDX
hey where in florida do you reside???? im in south florida in the miami area.... nice pics too... congrats....
MDXNole
jliveMDX,

My guess would be Central Florida. Those Gator fans typically do not get as far south as Miami.
ghost
I'd buy them as artsy prints, I really like the star highlights - were you using a star filter?

But "Angus"?!?! Really now!

Yep, MDXNole is correct, I'm in Orlando. No, I probably won't get a Gator plate. I had one for several years after they first came out but now I just save my money and settle for a Florida Gator license plate frame instead, Hey Ghost, I presume by "star highlights" you mean the sunlight reflecting off the MDX? I just used an old Sony Hi 8mm camcorder and freeze framed the video to get the pics. Not sure what a star filter is, I guess that's some sort of fancy photography thing? I don't know much about cameras, sorry. If you don't like Angus, dare I ask what you named yours? :D

Hey Gator, big question?? where in FL did you get it? I also live in Orlando, and I'm starting to see which dealer I'm going to approach on my new 2002 MDX order. What did you pay? MSRP? MSRP + ? Forced options?

Thanks,
Mango "GO CANES"
MDXNole
We have a Nole, a Gator and now a Cane.

ScottyB,
I notice that your location says South Florida, does that mean Broward County? I have never met a Gator that lives in Miami. I'm not saying that they do not exist, just in my experience it is fairly rare. I am surprised because I thought you Gators would feel quite comfortable in the Everglades.

Are there any other Noles out there? I'm starting to feel outnumbered.

Office in Miami, home in Miramar... SW Broward. (It was the Everglades about 3 years ago!) Born & raised in Miami, with lots of friends and family that are Gators, Noles and Canes. I even have Gator & Nole friends in Tampa... no Canes up there though.
Cool image with your truck!
phillyflyer
Gators and 'Noles, eh? How 'bout that other mecca for higher learning in the Sunshine State....

ScottyB... October 4. Opening night. Panthers at the Flyers. Only 3 months, 5 days, 1 hour, 5 minutes...

Ed :D
MDXNole
I actually have a cousin that lives in Miramar, so I am somewhat familiar with the area.

There are lots of Gators in the Tampa area, a fair amount of Noles, and not many Canes. I think most Canes fans stay in South Florida. Maybe you could confirm that.

As for the MDXNole image, I have to thank roadrunner for the image. He is a Tarheel and still put that image together for me. It just goes to show that MDX owners come together, even with their collegiate differences.

Ed,

I have been to Embry-Riddle. I actually got a baseball scholarship to the school. Decided to walk on the FSU instead.
Nice location for a school. Where do people at that school go for Spring Break? I'll bet they don't go to Tally.

Nole:

I can only speak for myself, I went home to NJ for spring break. :p

Hey Gator, you got me there, we haven't come up with a name that's stuck. I have to confess that Angus isn't the first thing that comes to mind with the MDX, but I guess since the design is based on a rhinoceros, Angus isn't too far afield. And it does beat Hereford or Jersey!

Yea, a star filter is just something you screw onto your lens that turns reflections into stars, I haven't used one since I started using digital.

Enjoy your new beast!!

An AC/DC fan by chance?

Ha ha ha, I knew someone would figure it out sooner or later. Yeah this is my first black vehicle in about 15 years and one of my all time fave albums "Back in Black" popped into my head, so I guess you could say Angus Young had something to do with it :D. I wanted a name that would play off the all black color scheme and the very first thing that I could think of (don't laugh) was Black Angus Beef, so there you have it. Hey Mango, I got mine at MSRP w/ no options (other than the Touring Package) at Don Mealy, it had been special ordered but the guy who put down the deposit dissappeared. It went straight from the truck to the showroom floor (right next to a red NSX) so it was completely virgin :) They had another one that I test drove that was identical to mine except it had the running boards (which I didn't care for) and the moonroof visor. Howver, that one sold yesterday so they have none left. Fountain Acura didn't have any but were taking deposits. It's nice to know there are so many Floridians here. I'm going off-roading in a couple of weeks (probably Sat 8/11) at the Withlacoochee State Forest near Brooksville with a couple of friends who both have CR-Vs. I've been there before with my old CR-V and there are some very nice, wide open trails that would be great fun in an MDX. If any of you MDXers want to meet up with us let me know.
GatorGreg
Oh, in case anyone's interested in what you can expect at Withlacoochee, check out these two webpages:

Tons of pics from my old CR-V days :)
MDXNole
I have been to the Withlacoochee Forest using mountain bikes, not SUV's. It does sound like fun, but I think that will keep my MDX a street vehicle for now.

Hey Greg. You're talking to an AC/DC queen here. I've seen them at least 10 times, although never honored enough to see Bon. Well, hope you've raised a little "Hell" in your new "baby". I wait till November, but well worth it I'm sure.

OK, why you all want to name your MDX after electrical circuitry is beyond me, but it is better than the bovine approach :)

Hey, you may want to resurrect this thread:
