I'm looking to buy an 06 MDX Touring Package in the DC metro area. The lowest quote I've received is $35,500 out the door price.
1. Can I bargain and get it down to $34,000 OTD price or maybe even lower? or $35,500 is already low? Any opinion?
2. If I wait until the 07 model comes out, will the price be lower? if so, how much lower? How did the price drop last year for people who bought 05 MDX when 06 MDX came out?
I have no experience in buying cars and I don't want to get ripped off on my first car. Thank you for the help and suggestions. |

Just my $.02:
Many have posted that they are presently paying invoice (dealer tissue) less $2,500 - $2,500 representing the manufacturers rebate.
Some have posted (a few) to do even a bit better.
So I would shot for dealer cost, less $2,500.
To find dealer cost go to www.kbb.com. This is Kelly's Blue Book.
The above price includes destination charge. You will be responsible for taxes and license fees.
Whether or not the price will go down further is problematic: You are already at dealer cost less the $2,500 rebate. I do not think you will do better if you wait, unless of course the rebate is increased.
The '07 are scheduled to come out late October/beginning of November. Traditionally, there are usually left over '06 around when the '07 hit the dealers. If there are many, Acura may increase the rebate.
Rebates of $5,000 are not unheard of and in fact that is what GM is presently offering on the Cadillac STS.
Hope this helps.

If you can gain access to the automotive trade newspaper (AUTOMOTIVE NEWS), they list the current consumer and manufacturer rebate for all car lines. If you have a friend who works for a dealer he may be able to get this weeks paper. You might even try a local library. GOOD LUCK!!

I would be amazed if the incentive got any higher than it is now. The dealers are not getting very many MDX's for the rest of the 06 run ata ll, and this current incentive is the highest it has ever been..and I can tell you, that we solved a lot of our inventory issues with this current incentive...to the point, where I would not be surprised if we ran out of 06's before the 07's got here.
Not to mention..with the projected price increase on the 07---5-7000 dollars, the 07 is going to create a natural price gap, thus lowering the need for Acura to throw more money out there to sell them.
I started July with over 80 MDX's in stock. August 1st, we have 42. If selection is important, I would not wait hoping for a higher incentive....if you are very open to colors and models, than it may be worth the risk to wait and see if my gut is wrong on this one or not. |

SDTS, Where are you located.
I am trying to trade my 2004 SBP Tour/Nav, 23K miles, mint condition for a 2006 Tour/Nav. I have been quoted $9,500 + my car + tax + misc. fees.
What do you think? |

I am in California.
Once you tell me, I am probably going to whack my head on the desk for a while, but what is a SBP? |

| Darnit, Loose Cannon- now STDS is busy whacking his head on the table... what if he sustains a serious injury and forgets how to post his insider's information? What a loss that would be! |
