| My MDX has the tow hitch with the extra fan from the dealership. Starting around 40,000 miles the fan would kick in when the car is turned off to cool the engine. Slowly it has been getting more frequent and for longer durations. Now it turns on very time the car is shut off and stays on for up to 15 minutes. A couple times it kept running until the battery died. What is going on here? |

What fan? The dealer installed tow hitch with coolers doesn't involve installing an additional cooling fan.
There is a sensor on the radiator (if I am thinking of the same system here) that allows the fan to run even with the key off to cool down the radiator. If the radiator is empty or very low, this can cause the fan to run excessively. Or a bad sensor can do it too. |

I'll have to check to see if the radiator needs fluid. I think the dealer added a fan as part of the two hitch package. thx |

| Nope no fan add on all there are are trans cooler and the steering cooler. Maybe the org fan is what you are having problems with. |
