Why is the estimated fuel usage posted on the window sticker for 06 MDX's soo low?

I just took a long trip in my new 06 and beat the 23 mpg highway easily.

Driving 70 - 75 mph for 380 miles without the air conditioner running I got 25.6 mph. With the air turned on I got 23.7. When I slowed to 65 - 70, driving in Ohio, it went up to 24.8.

I thought the estimates on the stickers were always set much higher than most people could get.

I get 17.6 in city driving.

This is using 87 octane.

I've got about 2500 miles on our new MDX and it seems the trip computer really likes giving us 20.1 as the average MPG.

Any idea why they gave us a three bar graph for instantaneous MPG, but a number for average? My Jeep gave me a number for instantaneous and I liked that a lot better.
