I've searched the threads & can't find an answer to this question.
I've priced all three. Which are the best brake pads for my 2001 MDX? Ceramic, OEM Compund or Composite? |

How long have you had the MDX? Do you currently have the OEM pads? Do you like it? If you do, stick with the OEM.
I personally don't like the OEM pads so I went with EBC |

Hawk is another good brand. Pay attention to any break-in recommendations for the ones you buy.
See www.tirerack.com for a good selection. |

| I replaced my pads with ceramic pads and I love them. I like the feel and they seem to create far, far less brake dust. Wheels stay much cleaner. I used Akebono pads and would highly recommend them. |

I agree, same thought here. I used these in my other vehicle, and just ordered another front set of the Akebono pro-act. First set lasted about 50k, still has some life in them, but wanted to replace them and get it out of the way. |

How are people finding the life on the ceramics? I am at 70k with the OEM and am inclined to go that way when I need to replace them.
What about noise also on ceramics? |

| Akebono are usually VERY similar to OEM. I was on tire rack the other day and there's a "note" when you choose a 2004 MDX that states the OEM used ceramic and recommends you do the same. . . Found that interesting. |
