My 03 MDX has about 73K miles on it and has been feeling a bit sluggish lately. I decided to do some easy maintenance items to see if they make a difference. So over last Saturday morning, I popped the hood and went to work... changed my plugs and air filter.
Took some pictures of the old plugs and filter:
Here are the replacement plugs:
I've been driving it the past couple days and there's a noticeable difference. The car idles better and accelerates smoother. Also, I seem to average about 1mpg better with the same driving habits and route to work.
Take away? Simple maintenance works! |

ductrinh,
Q: Can you give us DIY'ers a play-by-play on how to change the spark plugs? Any special tips or tricks when working with the MDX? |

| The original Bosch platinum plug is garbage. The newer platinum +2 or +4 looks promising, but the problem lies with the super thin center electrode that's almost totally hidden by the insulator. They foul much easier than other plugs. |
