We're the owners of a 2003 Acura MDX. We were just thinking of buying a bug guard and noticed that there are other options out there; such as, the clear bra. We do have some paint dings on the front bumper. The hood is fine and the side mirrors are fine. Should we forget about getting a kit that includes the bumper because of those scratches in the paint?
Thanks for any help.

Yup forget the clear bra, that is something that should be done ASAP when you buy the car. minute pits or scratches show up as bubbles and sometime cannot be smoothed out. |

Its never too late to protect a vehicle from further damage.
I hear this all the time, "I already have a few dings, so I guess its too late". What kind of logic is that? My lungs are already damaged from smoking, guess I should keep doing it.
The clear film can easily be installed over existing damage and unless the chip or ding is substantial, the film will lay down fine. I just did a 94 Civic last month, its never too late to be proactive.
If you decide to get the Invisible Bra, just be sure your installer uses 3M film. Other films do not retain gloss as long and are more susceptible to staining. I see you are also in Orlando area, PM me if you have any questions. |

Picked up my 2006 touring/nav this past Monday. I had 3M clearbra material on my 2001 MDX and I was very pleased with it, so I ordered the same 3M material from www.clearmask.com and installed it myself this time. I did my wife's new TL yesterday and my MDX today. Took me about 2 hours each. I did better on the MDX, but both turned out really well. I watched the install video and I was surprised that it was not more difficult. From reading other posts, I think I saved about $200-300 each installing it myself.
As long as you don't have a bunch of gouges in your bumper, I would put it on. It does a SUPER job of protecting the paint from Love Bugs, so I am sold on the stuff. |
