Passenger side airbag deploy - Click HERE for Original Thread

My MDX got T-boned on the passenger side by a Ford Tarus over 1 month and 1+ week ago. All the right passenger side doors were damaged so they had to get replaced. A little small hit to the door pillars.

The side airbag deployed on the right side.

The MDX is still at the shop awaiting to get repaired correctly (missed the door piece, seatback plastic cover (broken also)).

I though that I was picking it up today but found the body shop missed a few items in repairing my car.

I noticed they put in a new side airbag and used a different leather seatback cover.

The seat cover wasn't flush to the seat like the driver side seat one. (It appears that the installer needed to pull down the seat cover more.) It's almost like wearing a sweater but not pulling it all the way down to see the shoulders.

The body shop had one of the repair come out to talk to me and ite appeared he was bsing saying the SUN will put it back in shape.

Anybody have a similar experience?

Also, can you still say the title on the vehicle is "clear"?

Shall I keep or sell the MDX for another one?

The outside repair look flawless though.

Thanks for the feedback.

Replacing those seat leathers is just great fun. Even though a new cushion and cover were used, it shouldn't have any gap like you're describing. Installing a new cover over a cushion is something that takes time and a degree of strength. "Hog rings" are used to keep the leather tight against the cushion...and while those are very common in upholstery shops, maybe a body shop might not have those. I would take it back and make them fix it, since the sun isn't going to do anything. When I put a new cover on, it fits properly before the vehicle even rolls out of the shop and sees so much as a ray of sun.

A clear title has nothing to do with having had a wreck. A title denotes ownership. A title becomes " not clear" is there is something in the finances that shows that you do not fully own the vehicle.

If you did not pay all of your bills from the wreck and a mechanics lein was posted then your title would not be clear.

Whether or not you keep the vehicle is a personal choice. Doesn't sound like the wreck did sufficient damage to cause long term problems.

Maybe Will meant to say if it was still considered a "clean" title:)

Unless the car was deemed totalled and you purchased it back from your insurance company (Which it doesn't sound like that happened), the title is still "clean" and only a Carfax type report would show the car has been hit, if that even shows on there.

It's still at the shop.

Thanks for the response. I'm thinking of keeping the vehicle and selling off my other car. (Honda Accord).

Does the resale value take a dive if it's in a wreak or accident?
