Has anyone seen or heard anything about unintended acceleration on an '04 MDX? This has happened two times so far and I have an appointment with Acura to check it out.
What happened is that when I am braking and take my foot off the brake the car jerks forward and accelerates as if I had punched down on the accelerator. At first I thought I may have stepped on the gas by accident but the second time I know my foot was just off the brake and nowhere near the accelerator when it happened.
The Acura dealer said they never heard of anything like that before, but thats the same line they gave me 2 years ago with the droning sound that took over 9 months and a TSB to fix.
And for those who just like to add stupid comments, no, I do not drive with one foot on the gas and the other on the brake; no, I am not senile; no, I never owned an Audi.

| I could be way off but maybe an idle problem. Engine tries to cut out and then accels back to normal, which I think would feel like it's accelarating. |

| The MDX is drive by wire, it's very possible the gas padel position sensor system is faulty. |

If you were senile, you wouldn't know you were senile.:D
I have hit the "Resume" cruise control button a few times by accident. Once when turning the wheel, a few times with my thumb.
THe vehicle tried to accelerate to my last set position- I only use cruise control between 65 and 70.
I was approaching a red light, in a school zone, following a police officer at the time. Carrying eggs. |
