Phone rang this morning at 8:30 and it was my dealer/salesman John. My MDX has arrived. Last I heard from him he was expecting a build date soon (2 wks ago). I will be picking it up in an hour. I ordered mine at the end of Feb. and was told to expect a July delivery. On the phone today I was asked what accessories I would like to add or change from order. I was given final price. I'll let you all know how things go.

Hey good deal, it's here. That didn't take long 2 weeks for the build date. Well now we all have to see how your dealership experience went.

P.S. Welcome to the forum Hatrick :)

Wow, you've been waiting 5 months for your MDX? Now I feel real lucky cuz all I did was drive to my local dealer, pick out Angus and drive him home the same day. My brother who lives up north in the D.C. area said the market up there for MDXs is crazy, so he had to settle for a TL, poor guy :D The anticipation must have been killing you. Strange but true: I knew my brother had gotten a TL but I didn't know what color. Turns out we both got black on black leather. I guess we share the same taste :)

Which model/color did you get? Apparently they make 'em in batches, so those who ordered similar ones should be getting them soon.

Well, wife & I are home with Silver, Base Model. I had moon roof visor, rear mud flaps and base model roof rack installed. John at Executive Acura of North Haven was great. No forced add-ons, no pressure for added warrantie etc.. When I got home I installed the Burlwood knob I got from Tim without any problem...looks marvelous! I had originally ordered the instrument panel wood trim but cancelled that this morning since I had already ordered Joshua Tree trim kit. Dealer mistakenly installed anyway so they didn't charge for it....I assume the Joshua Tree will match...one less piece for me to install. I was going to install the roof rack and then decided to let them do it since I didn't want to hacksaw moldings. When I got home I got up to take a look and found that the shop had cut one strip an inch too short, DOH! Well I'll go back tomorrow and tell them to fix that. I'm a bit amazed that a shop guy thought he could let it go out like that. Ride was smooth, no THUD. Base sound system adequate. I'll let you know how things go. Oh yeah, ran into folks there lookin at MDX so I turned the husband on to ACURAMDX.ORG. It got me through the 5 month wait.

congrats on the car!! Post pictures!!

Congrats Hatrick on your new MDX.

It sounds like your dealer experience was a good one, except for the molding. Hopefully you will not have any problems getting that fixed. Doesn't sound like you will.

Welcome aboard.

Went over to the Dealer today. They will order new molding for roof rack and call me when it's in. Salesman had the service mngr come out to look at it. Hope they talk to the guy that cut one "matching" piece shorter than the other. Also checked the tire pressure today, it was over 40 psi.. I lowered them to 32. Spent the morning installing my Joshua Tree trim kit. Not an exact match but it will do. I see on the board today that others have had trouble with the Non-Nav screen piece. I got mine on ok but it was not as good a fit as all the other pieces. I might consider removing the dealers instrument gauge piece if I get good info on removal of trim. The Joshua trim is slightly redder than the Acura trim. If I don't get matching price on mats and tray I will be ordering from Tim.

hatrick - Congrats on your new MDX. I am also pretty new here (about a week) and still waiting to order an '02. I hope you have many happy miles!!!!!!!

This board is very helpful - that's for sure!!! Thanks for posting your experience - seems like your dealer is quite fair in not tyring to charge for the cancelled wood trim order they installed.

Hatrick,

Well, now that you've gotten your ride, it is your responsibility to get those other newbies through their 5 month waits by posting all your great experiences and piX! I look forward to it!

Congratulations, Hatrick, and happy MDXing :D:D:D

BTW, I thought the recommended tire pressure is 35 psi, not 32. Too low a pressure will increase heat and chance of blow out too.
