I have a new MDX but don't have a bluetooth phone. I have cingular service and can upgrade to a Motorola L2 for no cost. This is the first phone that shows up when I sort on Bluetooth. The Hands Free Link site lists a Moto SLVR as a tested phone for the MDX but doesn't mention the L2. Cingular.com doesn't list a SLVR. Wouldn't you know it. :3:
Question: Is anyone using a Motorola L2 with the HFL in a '06 MDX? :) |

| Bluetooth is a bluetooth, they share a common standard technology. Why not pair it and give it a try. I waited for Acura to finish testing on the latest model from Verizon, couldn't wait bought it and next thing I know, HFL supported the phone... :D |

It would be nice if this were true but it's not.
Just get the phone and try. If it doesn't work just exchange it within the allowed period.

I am successfully using my Cingular Blackberry 8700 in my 2006 MDX. Been working in it since I bought it in 05/2006.
Bluetooth works fine.
Works good in our Volvo XC90 as well, so I think you are safe with any bluetooth capable phone and the earlier post is right on. Try pairing it either before you take the phone home or soon after you get it during the trial period.

Thanks for the input. I ordered the Moto L2 online from cingular on Sunday. I have a FedEx tracking notice this morning saying it will be at my door on Wednesday. I should know by the end of this week if it works or not.
I guess I can use the time to build my phone book and have it ready for use when I get the phone. |

That is expressly NOT true. Especially when it comes to Verizon. They do not follow the Bluetooth standard specs. However, all of T-Mobile and Cingular phones have the standard, manufacturer BT firmware so they will all work fine with the HFS. |

I got the L2 phone tonight, charged it for a couple of hours, activated it, paired it with Hands Free in about 30 seconds and everything works fine. I now am bluetooth enabled in the MDX.
Thanks for the input guys.:p |

Anyone have any issues hanging up a call made from the hands free system?
I have a Samsung 950 that has been working very well paired to the 06 MDX. The only problem is hanging up the phone. Seems I almost have to wait for the other person to hang up. This is a problem when trying to hang up if the person doesn't answer the phone and I don't want to leave a message.
Just curious if anyone else has found a way around this.
p.s. Yes, I do know that pressing the back of the HF button is supposed to hang up the phone. :) |
