| If I have enough money to purchase a new car, should I buy instead of lease? I live in NYC so the car is highly likely to have scratches and maybe even damages to the body. I am also not very handy so I always trade it in when the warranty expires. Any thoughts? |

lease.
you just sadi you never keep them long, and the fact that you live in NEw York with your example is even more reason to lease as you are protected against resale value and things like repaired bodu damage and things of the such.
They give you $1500 of normal wear and tear, so minor scratches and things just don't matter.
The only reason you should buy, is because you drive some insane amount of miles per year based on your desription in your post.
Don't sink $40,000 inot a depreciating asset! |

LOL!!! Too funny JeffK.
You know..after all of that.....you actually changed the way I present Leases to consumers! Now I give them options on leasing of minimum drive off down, middle of the road down, and max down and tell them the drawbacks of putting a lot of money down with the only benefit being a lower monthly payment. I have gotten nothing but positive responses from consumers about the options presented and the openess of explaining the pros and cons. Most people seem to come in just under the "middle of the road" down payment...but it is completely of their own choice and they are doing so with full knowledge.
So ultimately, I have to thank you for that thread way back yonder.....you have helped me run a more succesful sales department with truely happier customers for it!!!!
Sorry for the OT, just had to share that with JeffK. |

Seriously, when are you going to start selling in the Southeast, SDTS? We need more Acura dealers down here. :D |

I just wanted to say this thread helped convert me to a lease also, it makes sense I NEVER keep a car longer than 3 years SO there is no use buying it when i probly will be belly up at the end of the 3 years anyways.
