Hi all, I have the Muth signal mirrors installed on my X but I'm considering switching back to the stock dichroic mirrors and installing something like this unless there's something I can do to fix it. Reason is because the stock mirrors were a lot more comfortable to my eyes at night. To me, with the Muths, it's like looking directly into someone's headlights whereas the stock mirrors is more like looking at the rearview mirror with the auto dim on.
The only two things I could think of is possibly putting some sort of tint on the mirrors themselves. But would it be affected by the heated mirrors or severly alter the way the signals look?
The other is to tint my front windows, which I've been meaning to do for the past two years now, to 30%. Would that be sufficient enough to filter out the glare?
I really like the Muth mirrors but it's gotten to a point where I don't enjoy driving at night anymore. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

| What part of Brooklyn are you in? There's a place I know that does tint, alarms, etc and they're pretty good. However, I know this guy who tints in Queens and he does an AMAZING job. |

I noticed, upon first installing them, the difference. But it didn't take long before I got used to the less tinted mirrors. They are no different than the mirrors I had on any vehicle prior to the MDX. It's the MDX that has the "feature".
I don't consider this a problem. But everyones eyes are different and night time driving can be difficult as we age. I had completely forgotten the fact that there was a difference until I read this post.
I find the mirrors to be fantastic. Driving in the NY/NJ/CT area makes these indispensable. People know, without a doubt, that you are changing lanes. I actually see people slow up to let me in and that's very unusual for around here. I feel the safety factor truly overrides the tint factor.
To each his own! |

I'm in the Sheepshead Bay area. Queens isn't a problem either. Can you please PM me the info? Thanks.

Does Honda use different material for their side mirrors? Ever since I could drive, my family has only had Hondas and Acuras and I've never had a problem with the glare from the stock mirrors.
I agree with the safety aspect of the mirrors. I too notice people letting me squeeze in when I'm trying to cut in.

| I installed the Muth signal heated mirrors on my 2003 MDX years ago and they came out great. Many drivers have commented on the signal mirrors and where I got them and who installed them. They were a bit involved on the installation but I had a local repair shop do the labor for me at a reasonable price:2: |
