For the past few days the Nav system has been acting weird. It started by saying "Do not turn the vehicle off"; Do not park near buidings, Nav is searching.
Now, it is going to start up screen and then black, then back to start up screen. It does this for about 15 minutes and then it starts to work. In the meantime I do not have any fan controls or any screen options available.
Once it comes on, it may stay on and no problem or after an hour or two it my go off and start up with the initial screen again and go through the start up procedure for another 15 minutes to 1/2 hour. It almost seems like it keeps rebooting and trying to start, gets to a certain point and then restarts again.
Anyone familiar with this problem

Is your battery dying?
f not, it sounds like the Navi is losing power while it's off. You describe a "cold boot" where it has to go through the whole startup process of loading from the disk, and finding where inteh world you are. This stuff is usually stored in sleep memory even when the vehicle is turned off.
If its in warranty, it's back to the dealer. If the battery is giving yoiu other problems, its time to replace. |

Thank you for your quick response. I agree it could be battery related although seems odd that the battery would be in bad shape after only 2 years of service.
I did notice this morning, that the camera is also going on and off while backing up.
If you have any other suggestions, it would be appreciated, but I will check the battery possibility out.
