Many of you seemed to like the pictures from my 2004 Cross-country USA trip, so here are new picturess from my second! USA trip, taken in the summer of 2006. :18:

Just a quick disclaimer--this part of my website is still a work in progress. And you'll need a broadband connection for sure.

Click here to take a look at my website pics.

Total trip > 12,000 miles.
Total time - 4 weeks, 2 days.
Total spent on gas - definately not priceless.

John,

Awesome trip! Where did you pack all your crapola (incl tent) in the MDX? Did you use a cargo carrier on the roof rack? Nice lookin family!

Thanks. Click here for the answer. We used one of the new Thule 1600 cargo carriers up top for all the suitcases, fishing rods, etc. We used a lockable, exterior plastic cabinet (out back) to keep all the sleeping bags, tent, camping gear, etc. We also had an interior fridge and an exterior cooler for iced drinks. And finally, we used a 4-bike carrier to carry all 3 bikes and the folding chairs.

Believe it or not, the interior was mostly full also with stuff we picked up along the way and a nice air mattress and sleeping bag that my wife and I used to rest on those extra-long drives. We also had 3 sets of sleeping bags, since the climate varied from (<30 degrees in Yellowstone to >90 degrees in Florida). In sum, you need a shocking amount of stuff when you go on a month-long camping/diving/biking/hiking/fishing/off-roading/on-roading/site-seeing/exploring trip.

On a recent two week camping trip I had our MDX just about as loaded as yours, (no bikes). The rear end was sagging during the drive up and back. How are your levelers holding up? Did you install yourself?

Thanks,
Poki
Hey Mauro,

Did you get an MDX?

It's me John, Kenny's brother-in-law.

Did you take any pictures? I once started a thread to get pics of the most loaded MDX. Take a look here.
