How is the oil dipstick/pan design on the MDX? I have an oil extrator I use on my BMW for inbetween intervals. If the dip-stick tubes touches the bottom of the oil pan, it's a pretty good, easy, and clean way to get the oil out.
I wouldn't do this every time, but maybe every other time. |

In a boat you probably need to use this technique. However in an automobile I see no need. Why?

No need to get under the car, worry about oil splashing around, etc.
It's just much easier, and in many cars, where the dipstick tube goes straight to the bottom of the oil pan, it's almost just as good as using the drain plug.
I've done it on my Audi and do it on my BMW. |

| I have one that I used on my old Mercedes and on a BMW. The two different sizes of extraction tubes I have won't fit down the dipstick tubes on the Acura. :( |

I could see the advantage if you had a remote topside mounted filter also. |
