| I will be getting side steps for my 2006 MDX (Sage Brush Pearl). Is there a general opinion as to how to choose which color to get? Do you match the wheels (satin) or the door handles (chrome)? I hadn't considered the black or even the running boards, but if anyone would like to give reasons for choosing one over the other, I'd be interested. Thanks in advance! |

| It is strictly up to you. I have a silver X and got the chrome sidesteps because that's what I liked. |

| I thought the satin side steps had been discontinued due to a manufacturing defect. Or was that just Tim that stopped selling them? |

Ask ten MDX owners, you'lll get ten answers. Every one will defend their own choice.
Running boards may keep the sides of the MDX a little cleaner. Steps may get your pants legs a little dirtier as you step over them. If you go with the steps, there is a lot more area and impact and proximity to the wheels than the door handles. Looks are completely up to you. |

I believe you are correct - they do not sell the satin ones anymore I believe. |

I took my MDX in back to the dealer last night and ended up choosing the chrome side steps. They actually had one set of the satin left but the driver's side step they showed me had a scratch on it where it would have been visible. Even though it probably wouldn't be that noticeable, is it too much to expect something brand new to be in pristine condition?! I don't know why they would discontinue the satin but the dealer said they would not be getting any more. If there is any chance there is a defect in the satin, I guess I should be happy. My tastes generally run to the conservative, so I didn't want to bling out my new ride too much! Of course, if I got chrome wheels, everything would match for sure, right?
Thanks to all who responded!:) |

| Finallly installed the billet steps over the weekend. With breaks, it took me over 2 hours. Also tried on the chrome door edge guards that I purchased at a local store. Tell me what you guys think! |

BigBruno,
Nice billet side steps. They look nice with the SS finish.:29: |

That is a nice looking Silver-Billet MDX and side step. :5:
I believe the Satin side step is back in business. Originally, I wanted the Satin side step though it was not available at the time of purchase due to a recall, I went ahead and chose the chrome side step. Nevertheless, all side steps looks good on any MDXers.
What I want to know is, will it look good on the 2007 model. |

Good question and one I have been struggling with. I have a steel blue metallic being built this week that should be here around the first of November. I have black side steps on my sandstone 2003 and I am anxiously awaiting Tim to post pictures of the 2007 choices. My black ones still look like new after 4 years, are the chrome or satin ones higher maintenance? |

Bruno, you asked so here you go.
I say keep the steps and lose the door guards. It looks kinda cheesy to me now, and I'll be they start to really look like crap after they see some action and get scuffed up. If you want guards, get the Acura ones. |
