Hello everyone! I'm thinking about purchasing an 06 MDX Touring and I stumbled across your site. I've found the information very useful.
Story time... My wife and I got a few internet quotes from the local dealerships here in Maryland and one dealership gave us a quote of $34K for the Touring (no NAV, no RES). We thought it was a pretty good price so we asked if they could go any lower and if they had the color we wanted. They said they could not go any lower but they did have the color we wanted in stock and gave us the VIN #. The VIN # they gave at "$34,000 - add only tax and tags and $100 processing" is actually for a Touring w/ NAV!!!
At any rate, my question is this... if they realized the mistake can they do anything about it? Or is this no mistake, it's just a good price for a Touring w/ NAV? Thanks! |

It is likely a mistake - invoice minus incentive on a trg with nav is $36,647. If you have signed a buy agreement at that priced for that Vin, then it is valid. If you just have a quote then they are free to correct it. |

| Make sure it is "New" not a demo car that their GM or sales manager put thousands of miles on it, or it could be someone bought it but couldn't get financed and they are forced to return it. Just my thought. |

You should be able to get the "holdback" too. It is 3% of the MSRP w/o the destination charge.
So you should get (Invoice - $2500 rebate - holdback = price before title, tags, tax.
Good Luck on a great vehicle. |

| Here are the dealer net costs including the $2500 incentive and holdback: Link. But as the amount of the 2006s dwindle, the demand goes up a bit for the more desireable models (especially navi) and the amount the dealer will sell for can go up in response. |

Why would ANY dealer give up all of their hold back money? The dealer needs to make SOMETHING on the deal.
A legit suggestion might be the $2500 consumer cash + HALF of the hold back money. |

There are a number of reasons including 1) the dealer having a huge inventory to get rid of and 2) the dealer's allocation is based on the number of vehicles sold. There were forum members posting very close to net cost prices. |

| keep your internetprices quote in writing. It does sound like an error, but depending on your state, theymay have toliveup to it..but it would require you getting attourneys and stuff into the mix, which very few people are willing to do. |

The dealer must have really wanted to sell that day. According to SDTS that's about $900 below dealer cost. They probably made it up on some other "sucker" that week....... |

Just for the dealership to maintain a weekly figure. Dealers have to have a minus from time to time. That money lost, will be grab somewhere else. |
