Ok guys,
I have embarked on a project but I want to do it the easy way without having to rip too much apart.
I had an original 2001 MDX and got rid of it after 3 years...I finally was able to afford and get back in to a new 2006 MDX with RES NAVI ETC.
My plan.
1. Bought a nav conversion with factory wiring harness.
2. Want to put an IPOD in the center console and run video plus audio out to under the passenger seat.
3. I will then split the video signal, one to the nav conversion, and one for the RES screen.
4. I want to run 3 cables under the carpets to the rear aux inputs for video and audio.
My problems:
1. I have no clue how to take the center console apart, or where to drill a hole to get the wires under the passenger seat cleanly.
2. I have no idea - NONE - of the best way to run wires from under the passenger seat to the rear auxillary in puts in the 3rd row armrest.
HELP!
Now as I mentioned, I dont want to rip apart the front dash and take the factory system out..etc etc... Its too much for me.. I am a technology dude and not a car guy. I can do basics...thus the chicken method out.
I figure this will let me rip dvd's for the kids on to my ipod and let them watch it in the back. I have no intrest in watching video in the front....the only real reason for this was to see what they were seeing. (hidden switch under the seat - location only known by me so we cannot use it regularly). I dont want to get killed or get anyone killed while driving.
Thanks.
