| Has any one made a deal on an 07 yet? I am wondering if activity is currently at MSRP or below already. |

MSRP in Northern California. Taking deposits at that price and nobody is even considering anything less in our area.
Some are charging OVER MSRP, so currently in this area, MSRP is the best deal!! |

the costco auto program is offering $200 off MSRP. that's all i've found at this time. however, i'm negotiating using that as a starting point, to get accessories at a reduced cost.
i'll keep everyone updated as to my progress. |

| I've seen several posts and a few local adds in Charlotte which advertise $500 below MSRP. |

From what I understand, each dealer sets their own Costco member price. |

after speaking with a Costco Auto Program Specialist, they told me that the incentives available are nationwide, ie it's the same here in california as it is in minnesota, and florida. now, that incentive may fluctuate of course due to the market.
can anybody else verify?
nonetheless, not much negotiations at this point.... |

Well the price is set but it is still negotiable. This is what they don't tell you.
When I bought our TL this year we went through the Costco Car buying. We found out our previous dealer participated we went and found they had 2k less that msrp. So we leverage another dealer who said they would beat that price and we played them against each other till one said no. But the point I am trying to said you can still bargain the price down. |

absolutely:2:
i am in current negotiations for our fourth MDX--2007 Tech/Ent Package with a laundry list of accessories. i'm pretty close to signing the papers--maybe even tomorrow afternoon.
couple of hundred of MSRP, and a slew of accessories below dealer cost. not the best deal, but live-able. |

I was quoted a different Costco discount than $200. I do not wish to share how much until I have the car in my hands. There are still posts from this board from when I bought my '03 haunting me in my file at the dealership to this day. |

I will just say that there are people on this board who are dealers and do not identify themselves as such. It is easy for a dealer to figure out who you are even if your screen name is not obvious like mine which is my last name - they can tell based on what kind of vehicle you have and when you purchased it based on their inventory. I suggest you be very carefully of any criticism of a dealer here if you want to purchase a car from them again. My ordeal was a change in the agreed upon cash price after it was in writing and was even verified in person the following day by the dealer. We will just say I was not happy at the time and I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was a one time bad experience and things will go much smoother this time with my '07 - which was hopefully built yesterday. |

| I'm a dealer (well actually just a salesperson) and I've been able to recognize 3 of my customers through forum postings- 2 on Edmunds and the other on this board. Fortunately all of them had either neutral or good comments about their experience with us. |

I don't think it is paranoid when the dealer refers to specific posts I made on this forum from my file at the dealership. |

I've sold one car to one person on this board and was able to recognize them from their price quotes and the things they said on the phone when they called in.
I can also tell when talking to a customer now, if they are a "Car Chat Room" customer or not, which is of HUGE benefit to me as a dealer, cause I know how to handle them just from reading this board every day.
So you are definitely NOT being paranoid. SHould not matter how you are treated if they recognize you, even if you did have poor things to say, they should take this knowledge and make it better for you so you could reverse your opinion of the dealer.
As far as the Costco Program, we all set our own prices for Costco. Only one dealer in each area of a certain amount of mileage is allowed to be the "Costco Dealer", but the prices are really never anything special. Nothing that you could not get from someone else and nothing that could not be beaten. Even with Costco, we still have to have room to negotiate, as everyone wants to still get a little more off.
It is nothing but a strong referral source to a dealership. |

Here in South Fla. our dealer is still taking orders on the 07 MDX . and this will be on ALL styles as well.
I have one on the lot and that is our demo. I have deposits on specific vehicles that take us to april. We have people bidding on other customers incoming MDX.
We started off at MSRP other area dealers are charging over, we will stick with our #s and continue locking up deals.
the demand is still strong , im sure it will tail off soon down the road.
I have not done any inquiries across the country but im sure its up and down depending on the area..
keep us posted ,
