I am new to this forum but not new to Acura's or MDX's for that matter. I currently have this 05 Touring, Navi, DVD with just over 7000 miles on it and I also have a 2005 TL, full A-spec, 6 SPD, Navi, black on black with just over 500 miles to match this Nighthawk Black Pearl MDX. I just bought this MDX late last month. I added the Silver Sparkle 19" RDX rims with a set of Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asymettrico 255/50/19 tires. Boy does it handle and drive better, much less noise which was hard to believe. The ride is also not that much more unforgiving especially on these pathetic MI roads. I also added the chrome side steps, painted fender flares, painted door moldings, painted rear tailgate spoiler, sunroof visor, 05 MDX TPMS sensors, locking lug nuts, rubber cargo tray, rear privacy shade, and rubber and carpeted floor mats. All I have left to do is tint the front windows with 35%. Sorry about so many pictures but I am new to this. Thanks for looking.

WIFE'S NEW GROCERY GETTER ON 19'S |

| Yes I did wet sand and rub out the entire vehicle. I am very disappointed with the amount of orange peel that Acura allows on their newly painted vehicles. It really helped, but what a long and tedious project. |

Those look great:eek: . I'm ususally not one for changing out the rims, but those are a nice balance and not too overstated.
If they are from an X5...even better, maybe I can find a used set easier.
I like the tires too, but I may opt for some with a little taller rubber as I thing the MDX's have some big wheel wells that need filling. |

I agree. It really is "redicilous", you should be ashamed of that POS. |

Just did a look up on tire size comps. Looks like you are right on the money with the mfg setup.

| yea. you posted that twice. I have never seen a MDX of 19". It is a MDX, not a Porsche SUV, and all he is using it for is to get some grocery's. lol. try again. I would never be caught cruising on 19's in my X. |

| Mr_MDX |
i like it alot, esp since they are Acura Rims......
I'll have to look into the offsets before I decide on a pair, but i'd prefer taller tires and chromed as well though
oh well, maybe i should just stick with my little Chrome Acura 17s |

Again, great point. I too have never seen an MDX of 19". That would be a large scale model of an MDX I guess. Maybe you should learn to use your KEYBOARD, or spellchecker. You don't cruise on 19's, what the hell do you cruise on? WTF is the meaning of your posts? |

I just recently sold this 95 Milano red Legend coupe 6-speed to a gentleman from British Columbia, Canada. I replaced it with my 2005 TL full A-spec kit, 6-speed, navi, comptech exhaust & short throw shifter, Fujita cold air intake and Blitzsafe I-pod adapter. It had just less than 3000 miles on it when I bought it this June. The 2001 MDX Touring with 93,000 miles was just sold to my brother. I replaced it with this 2005 MDX Touring, navi and dvd. My black on black 1998 Toyota Supra twin-turbo 6-speed targa is what it is. This car has less than 50K miles on it and way too many mods to list. Owning three black vehicles is going to be a challenge trying to keep them clean. Enjoy the pictures!

| Does the rims on the TL fit the MDX? I'm really interested to see how it looks like on a MDX. |

That was my first idea. I checked with several different Acura dealers and they all said the same thing that the weight or load index of the rim was not sufficient enough to hold the weight of the MDX. He said that they seen rims get destroyed after hitting minor potholes. Who knows if there is any real truth to this but I was not willing to have my wife and daughter be the test animals for my experiment. |

| Your Toyota Supra Twin Turbo really rocks...! Its super fast and rocks on the cornering... Too bad "Pimp my Supra", all must come to an end. Wish I can go back to those old days. |

Thanks for reply. I was curious if they would work and they did. The 2001 I sold my brother now sits on the 18 in. 235/55/18 Acura RDX rims. He picked them up new from a dealer in Nashville with Michelin tires for $750.00 out the door. The tires are a little smaller than I would want but when they wear out he can go with the 255/55/18 and they would be a perfect match. |

Is your brother's 2001 an MDX?
I'm looking at a set of RDX 18" wheels for my MDX and wasn't sure if the offsets were different.
Do you know what offsets the RDX uses? |

Yes. I sold him the silver one at the top of this page. The offset is perfect. Acura dealerships have put them on a few of the MDX's and swapped out the TPMS with the one's for the MDX so that theyu are compatible. He loves the look and says that it rides great. They do not stick out at all. You cannot beat the price that these sets of rims, michelin tires and TPMS monitors are going for mounted and balanced on E-bay. Hell the tires alone mounted and balanced would cost almost $800.00 |

| Thought about 19" rims but wasn't sure I wanted to risk the lower profile when the inevitable curb kiss happened. Chose a 18x9 on P255x55. I like the classic Hot Rod look of a 5 spoke vs. the dressy multi spoke look. Also plan to paint the calipers red to bring attention to the slotted and drilled rotors. Thought long and hard about the side steps and went for a more stealth satin tube look. |

Yeah there are some real haters on this forum, you would think buying an MDX would take away some of their misery..Don't listen to the miserable ones. I think it looks hot!
How you like the A-spec, I traded my MDX on a TL-non A-spec, I love it thus far! |

I love this car. It has everything that I could ever ask for in a car. I am not happy with the squeeks and rattles though. The dealership has been a waste of time for the most part. After adding the larger 255 series tires it rode much less harsh than the tiny 235 series. How is yours? Thanks for the kind words. |

My guess is because nobody makes a lowering kit for the MDX. Why? Hmm...I'm leaning toward not enough demand. Even if you did match a set of springs for the height you want (1",2",3" drop) you would have to deal with the camber change you created. 1" drop= -.75, 2" drop=-1.50, 3" drop= -2.50 That's gonna look pretty crappy rolling down the street, not to mention the havoc it plays on tire wear. You will have to get some custom adjustable tie rods and control arms to replace the "unadjustable" factory ones. It's a good look on the TL though, I put Eibach's with a 1.5" drop on my '97. It really improved performance and handling. |

986,
Kudos to you. I dislike about 90% of the aftermarket wheels on the MDX but these ones look really nice IMO. Fresh and fast yet understated. They look semi-stock but really nice. Nice job.:29: |

They should look stock. Accessory wheel for the 07 RDX and I also saw that now they are offerring it online at Acura.com as an accessory wheel for the 07 MDX if you were to build one online. I wanted a stock Acura rim, very understated. I personally am not much for chrome or very much Bling on an MDX and would never dream of lowering it. I still have not lowered my 98 Supra or TL with the full A-Spec Package. |

I had 265/35/22's on my MDX when I had it..I couldn't tell much of a difference in the stock tire and the aftermarket tire.
Same with the TL, I put 265's on the rear...rides great
Lowering- I lowered my MDX, and received comments from all the critics on this site 7 pages worth, I used spring compressors, It drove fine, and looked great, not too low I think it was 2 inchs..but looked great on 22's, there is not a market out there for springs for an MDX for some reason, not sure why.. |

On you TL what size 265 tires did you end up using. I had asked repeatedly on the forums if anyone ever tried a 265/35/18 which is exact specs of the factory A-Spec. I never tried it though. |

Nice taste in wheels QRTLOW...those are the 18" Enkei LM1s...I have the same ones on my '03 TL Type-S:
I plan on taking better pics, I grabbed the camera quickly after putting them on. They look nice on the MDX as well...I've contemplated buying a set for our '06 MDX...your pics are making me think about it again... :) |
