i'm thinking of buying an '06 base model for my wife, but I'm wondering where i should start with the local dealer - the prices i'm seeing on this forum are lower then I expected. When you guys say "out the door" i assume you're not talking sales tax too. Here in Sonoma County CA - ours sales tax is 8%. - so with the 2500 cash back and holdback - do you think i could get them down to 30K even before tax? or even lower?
thoughts? - or anybody in the bay area that knows a sales manager willing to wheel and deal?
we're pretty set on white, if that matters....
thanks yall |

look at SDTS post called NET COSTS
That will give you a general idea of how low you can go. On a base I have found one person (jeffK) that leased his MDX for 31,143 but most are seeing prices in the 32,000 range
I just leased a touring/nav for 36,000
being picky on color could get you in trouble UNLESS the dealer has the color you want on hand. |

| I just picked up a base model with the roof rack for $30k. Was wondering if I could have gotten them into the 29's. Just fyi, that's before tax and tags. |

| base model with wheel lock, 31.6k OTD in Virginia. I was told that from last Friday, there's another 500 rebate on top of the 2500 rebate till 10.31. |

yes, i'm being quoted 31750 for a white base model with wheel locks and whatever that "protection package" includes. I'm trying to get them down to 30K, or 30500 - wish me luck. I've found a 2004 with 18K miles for $27500 - I'm pretty tossed which way to go. I know the '06 has a longer warranty, not to mention the fact that it hasn't even started. Any thoughts?

Considering you'll have two more years of warranty, plus lower mileage, plus newer=less depreciation at resale, plus I think there were a few bells and whistles thrown in 'o5 and newer, I would definitely be going for the '06 versus the '04 for that price difference. |

| Edmunds.com is showing a Cash Incentive to dealers of $ 3000 from 10/13/06 - 1/2/07. That is fantastic if the dealer passes this on to the consumer. |

My guy said he was making a few hundred dollars off of me with my 30k deal. If there were any other incentives offered, he didn't see them in his paycheck. He's been pretty square as we have some mutual friends and such.
I think if you could go to $25k or under for the 04, it might be worth a look. |

| no the dealer with the '04 is firm on $27.5K. he started at $33K and went down to $29K before i started with him. I told him i'd buy it at $27K but he never got there. Look like he'll lose the deal. The dealer for the new '06 is now willing to sell at $31K even. I'm going to push for the side steps and a rack at that price :D |

if not the sidesteps, at least get the roof rack, cargo mat and cargo cover. That's about $500 right there.

| looks like i'll need to change my user name to just "new owner". pulled the trigger on the base model. got it for $30875 before tax and reg. I think i got a good deal, until somebody posts lower. He wouldn't budge on any of the goodies, so i'll need to find them online. Definitely need the rack, all weather mats and probably the sidesteps |

I feel even better then at $30k even with the roof rack. But I think anything around $31 or under is a good deal.

Congrats!
As has been posted, the rebates are now $3,000!
Think twice about the side steps - in bad weather they collect mud, snow, etc.. Their height hits my pants everytime I get into the car!
Hondaworld is the place to go for accessories!
