This is interesting. Its going to start in Japan, so don't hold your breath for it showing up in MDXs stateside anytime soon, but some cool ideas. I think they should make the Social Networking stuff open source so that clever owners can create applications/hacks to do cool stuff. Not that there's much chance of that, but its cool to dream.

GPS with weather info and social networking system on Honda cars

Honda car drivers in Japan will be able to receive in real time (updates every 10mn) the EXACT weather info at their present location or at their destination, thru the InterNavi Premium Club (InterNavi Weather). If you don’t weather conditions at your current location are useful on a GPS, you may find interesting to know the roads or districts that are flooded, or cut-off by the snow. The system can also tell you that. An exclamation mark on the map tells you there is a problem in a particular area.

Honda also offers a real SNS (Social Networking Service) which allows InterNavi Premium Club subscribers to provide some information about a precise location. For example, if you’ve had a bad experience in a restaurant (the food made you sick), you can mark the place on your GPS and let the other users know the tacos at the local Taco Bell gave you the runs… cool uh?

It would be really cool to have the system show me exactly where the chain check has been set up by Caltrans. Seeing others' reviews of restaurants might be easy. How about letting me IM the hottie in the TL stuck in traffic next to me?

The downside is she may be able to flame you back with some interesting images related to the third digit of the hand held up extended, with the other digits flexed, in a socially unacceptable manner. :2:

Anyhoo, wow, the Japanese think of everything. How about being able to add the GPS location of your fellow Acura owners/friends (with their permission, of course)? And how about being able to steer clear of "bad" dealers due to negative owner feedback?
