Almost as inviting as Maritza's...
Finally- some wide tires, and an aggressive stance. I just hope she's not so softly sprung, that she looks like a low-rider if anyone sits in the back seat.
I might have to re-think that whole, "I'm not getting another MDX" thing... I'll have to test drive it, then the Enclave- to see which one I'll give the OK.
As I predicted- the Enclave will not de 6-passenger only.
It will be available as 6, 7 or 8 passenger capable, 300+ HP V-8 available in 2008 or 2009, out the gate with a 270 HP V-6. |

OK, J. Lo's "rear" has a pimple on it... I wouldn't pass it up! LOL.

Yeah, I'm not going to say what that looks like, but- it rhymes with Bill Bo.
I guess they had to shroud it like that, to protect it from, um, moisture... :D
Anyhoo, if no one had mentioned it, I'd never have seen it.
I'd still prefer the sensing system, or optimally- both. But, the higher end cars haven them front and rear. As many times as my wife has pulled mine in, and hit the lawnmower, I can tell you- a front collision avoidance system, would be great. The one in the 7-series Bimmer is very nice. It only works at parking lot maneuvering speeds, be it reverse or drive. |

It's not the back that's the problem, it's the God awful front end!

I just got back from the local dealer and they had two parked out front. It looks a lot more aggressive and sporty than the old body style. The pictures in the brochure did not do it justice.
I could not believe how much they have upgraded the interior, I would say it is in the ballpark with Lexus. The leather on the seats appears much thicker and richer than my '03 and the second row seats are much more comfortable and feel like bucket seats. My wife even loves it - and that is saying a lot. She wasn't excited about another car payment until she saw it in person. |

I've sat in a Murano before, not bad...
But, when I got in the FX, my head was in full top, direct contact with the roof. Forced with either having to lay down to drive it, or risk paralysis at the first big pot hole, I had to pass on the FX.
Well- I like the but on it, and the hunkered down/aggressive look.
If it's going to out-handle the x-5, it's going to have to hunker down, somewhere, but- the X-5 still has head room. I hope in it's effort to make the MDX an FX45 alternative, they didn't skimp on the head room.
I know this new MDX should be able to out run the X3, X5 (3.0), and the Murano. It should be as swift as the FX35 (if not faster)- but with 45 less ponies, it'll still be chasing FX45 taillights.
Something I didn't know:
I thought the FX and the Murano were built on the same chassis- they were not. The FX was built on the 350Z's chassis, and the Murano was built on the chassis of the Maxima. While the Max and the 350 have some commonalities, they are different enough to be, different. (FWD vs RWD, AWD Optional, Murano's slightly larger.
Mazda's coming out with a 200" SUV huh? The CX-9. Ladies & gentlemen, the mid-size, near-lux SUV segment, with the entry of the CX-9, CX-7, MKX, Edge, and they new Hyundai on the verge of dropping, its going to get tougher to stand out...
New RX should be on the way soon, as well as new FX's and new Murano's....

That reverse camera looks kinda big as apposed to my 06 camera which is nicely concealed. |

I thought the Murano was built on the Altima Chassis and the FX on the G35 Chassis?? Not that I care as I do not care for Nissans, other than that beautiful Infinity M35/45 sries. |

Not according to Motor Trend... I just read that, in an old (2-3 years old) issue. |

What is this Enclave you mentioned? I google'd it and I found the Buick Enclave. Is this it?

Do unibody cars even have a "chassis"? They have unit bodies and subframes where the suspension and powertrain bits attach.
The Altima, Maxima, and Murano (and Quest) are all built off the same "FF-L" (Nissan designation) platform. Dimensions such as wheelbase, track, etc and powertrain features like AWD differ on each application but the basic platform is the same.
Go read the freshalloy.com forums or Wikipedia for more information.

1) The Nissan 350Z and Infiniti G35 are almost the same "chassis".....the latter being a longer wheelbase. So to say the FX35/45 is based on one or the other are both correct.
2) Overall the 2007 MDX rear looks good. Except:
2a) The Camera is insanely ugly. Painting it body color would certainly help.
2b) The tailpipe guts need to be painted black!
3) I wonder how much of the bumper needs to be cut out for a tow hitch? |

I wouldn't be surprised if in the very near future someone here will tell us that his backup camera has been vandalized. It will definitely attract jealous/ignorant/curious/crazy individuals to see what this 'hemmorhoids' looking thing is. |
