I have an 04 MDX. I bought a Sirius radio that is supposed to broadcast its signal to an FM station. As I'm sure many of you already know, it doesn't work well, expecially here in Chicago where there aren't any really quiet frequencies. I complained to Sirius and they set me up with an "FM Modulator Relay" http://www.tss-radio.com/sirius-wir...70290415817113c. So my question is, how do I remove the radio to get to the antenna plug (is removing the radio even necessary?), what does the antenna plug look like (how will I find it?), and will I need any kind of special adaptor that I don't have?

Thanks for you help!

Although I don't recommend it ..Here it is http://cgi.ebay.com/Stereo-ANTENNA-...VQQcmdZViewItem
Its going to sound crappy ..Really not worth the money..

I rather spend a couple more bucks and invest in Aux input solution and connect your Sirius to the Aux input..here it is http://cgi.ebay.com/2001-2004-ACURA...VQQcmdZViewItem

I hope this helps !!!

Removing the radio is simple. Do a search for "Aux input" or "Blitzsafe" and you'll find quite a few threads.

The Honda antenna cable is not the standard cable like the one on your relay. I'm sure someone makes an adapter. A google search would probably help there.

But when all is said and done I agree with doenuttz, go for the Aux input device. You'll have the radio out anyway and it gives you much more flexibility with higher sound quality.

Took you a year to do your first post...WOW... well welcome...we didn't know you were there!

I installed Sirius in March but I just ran a cable to the Aux RES input in the back. I love the programming though and am very happy with the service.

Thanks! That auction says "2001-2004 Acura MDX (Without external changer or factory XM installed)" - unfortunately, I have the external 6 disk changer under the driver's seat (I have the NAV and RES). Is there still an aux solution? Also, why do you think it will still sound bad after using the modulator? It's supposed to basically hardwire the sound into the radio (as far as I understand it).

Thanks again!

If you have RES you should consider buying a 10-12ft dual Rca to mini plug cable like this one and run it, from the AUX input inside the 3rd row passenger side armrest, under the seats and floor mats to the front and then use the AUX button on the radio headunit. I use that set up now and it works great. It's a heck of a lot easier, it's already there, you don't have to pull the headunit and you don't have to use the modulator.

I have used a FM modulator for the X before.. For some odd reason . The MDX radio doesn't seem to pick up the AUX signal via fm modulator.. When You listen to it .There's a hissing sound that annoyed the hell out of me..

I bought A PIE X3 for my aux solution.. But I don't have disc changer..

Look at different threads regarding AuX input.. I am sure you will find your answer...

Newbie Alert!

So I took your advice and bought the very part you linked, I just picked up my rig from Circiut City and now I need to crank the stereo all the way up (something I have never needed or wanted to do befeore) and the sound level is not anywhere near what it used to be. It is not the Sirius unit, that is cranked all the way up. For now I am going to run it the old fuzzy FM way, atleast then I can rock out with my bad sound. Anybody know what I can do to fix this?

Thanks.
