A lot of people are purchasing Ipods or mp3 players and trying to intergrate into the MDX radio.Which one are you using? Lets provide other members the experience and price of your AUX solution..

I am going to start.I own a 2006 base model MDX..I don't have a disc changer and I don't have Factory RES.. I have been using PIE X3. It cost me $90 shipped. It has 3 aux input.I am using 2 of the 3 inputs. One for the carputer and one for the aftermarket DVD player. I use the XM to have the sound come out of the Factory MDX Radio.I have been very satisfied with the PIE X3. IMO, It sounds great!!!

I have a '04 Touring Ed, with Nav. I purchased a DLO iPod base, with FM modulator. Has a choice of 4 preset freqs. In the process of setting this up, I discovered that the FM radio in the X is much more sensitive than the one in my BMW!! Picks up stations that I never knew existed, so I had to hunt a bit more to find a free freq I could use.

06 Base MDX. Buying the X3 with the HON03 harness. Will tide me over for my Sirius and MP3 until I suck it up and do the Pioneer Z1 install.

Have a Sportster 4 attached to a right side ProClip angled mount. Will use the factory XM antenna and convert it over for use with the Sirius PNP. Just need to make sure the XM is in the back left of the X so I can get the appropriate length made.

I have an 04 and use the RES inputs for our iPods.

I have a brand new Musiclink for sale if anyone is interested.

I thinking lumping the RES inputs with the cassette adapter is wrong so I didn't vote. The cassette adapter and the FM Modulator would be a better pair IMHO. There is a huge difference in sound quality. The RES input is much cleaner.

Just finished installing my PIE X3 tonight, and I must say it works flawlessly. Did the "not an ashtray" removal and fed the cables to the unit in that vast space behind the dash. Did the add a circuit to run the power and left the aux remote in the cubby hole so it's easily accessed but hidden.

One nice thing I realized with the wood trim is that it's smoothness is perfect to use a suction cup mount. I reversed the arm on the mount for my Sirius Sportster 4 and mounted it just below the power outlet. The outlet still opens, and the Sportster sits just in front. Looks really clean, moreso than the proclip or pro-fit mount would. I hate the location of the pro-fit. It just sticks out of nowhere. And I took the right sided ProClip mount and reveresed it for the left side to use with my Treo. Will take some pics after I hardwire a dual 12v adapter so I can power the Sirius and Treo from behind the dash and only use one of the two outlets to charge my BT headset.

I'm using two of the three aux inputs. The one for the Sirius and the other so I can flip flop my mp3 players as needed. Again coming through the gap in the cubby hole so they are usable but hidden from view.

And no type of connection (FM (direct or indirect) or tape connection) will sound nearly as good as a direct aux in via one of the adapters mentioned in the poll or the RES input.
