| I hope the market up there is better than in the Carolinas. I am only getting $21,000 out of my 2003 touring with NAV in trade for an '07. It is in excellent condition, has side steps, and only 37,000 miles. The several dealers I spoke with said there are a lot of '02's & '03's coming off of lease right now and it is killing the market. |

Excellent: $18,675

Blue Book Private Party Value
Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.

Again, I do not know what KBB you are using. Using zip code 11050 I get:
More Photos Condition Value
Excellent
$22,140
Good
$20,900
Fair
$19,240
This is for Private Party.
But the reality is that you will only get trade in value as I posted above.

| I PULLED PRIVATE PARTY WHY WOULD I SELL IT FOR TRADE IN VALUE? OR FOR THE MATTER OF FACT WHY WOULD ANYONE SELL IT FOR TRADE IN VALUE UNLESS YOUR TRADING IT IN. |

| Your timing is bad. If you tried to sell your '02 2 months ago, maybe you *could've* got low blue book for private party. October is usually the time when leases expire, so a slew of '03/04 Mdxs are being turned in. Add in the '01/02 owners trading in for the freshly redesigned '07 and you have a glut of used Mdxs in the pipeline now. You can hold out for private party BB, but you'll be lucky to get high trade in - it's a buyers market for a 1st gen Mdx . . . |

In the real world, Trade in value equals wholesale.
Maybe you will find a buyer who will pay you more than wholesale. If you do, then more power to you.
But I think, when push comes to shove, and especially with the introduction of the new 2007, and the 2006 being heavily discounted, I paid $31,134 for a base 2006, you will find that wholesale is what you will get.
Again, if a dealer will really give you cash for more than the trade in value, then I repeat run, do not walk, to that dealer!

As I previously posted if a dealer with give you $21,000 run do not walk to make that deal!
Sorry, but I still think you are looking at Kbb.com trade in value, about $18,000.
But again as I posted, if you can get $20,000 more power to you!
Good Luck!

| And that 2001/2002 ticking time bomb (tranny) doesn't help resale at all. |
|
|
| 02mdxblack |
I have never had any wierd shifting or anything out of place with my suv. It was built late of 02 and delivered in 03.
It was one of last bunch on the production line
my dealer was telling me. I also did not have the front spring recall
or the waterpump or tensioner recall.
Mine was one of the last ones built when they figured out those problems.
As for the tranny it was done at 6k miles had the jet kit installed.
NO PROBLEMS AT ALL |

My advice: Keep it. These are godd vehicles, so why take a loss? And, yours is basically the same as an '07, but with better looks. |
