Anybody else have this problem?

We were driving around with the Navi on and it crashed -- that is, the screen froze and all of the controls were inoperative. So, a few minutes later, I stopped the car and turned the engine off and back on, but the screen never lit up -- it remained black. I tried several more times -- nothing. So, I drove to the nearest Acura dealer (which was about 5 miles away). Once there, I tried turning the engine off and back on again; still nothing. I talked to the service rep; they said they didn't have anybody there at the time that could look at it (this was a Saturday around 1:00) and asked if I could bring it back Monday morning. I said OK, and a few minutes later got back in the car to drive away. Of course, now the nav booted normally.

Anybody else see this? (I have a '99 3.2TL with Nav and never had this happen -- it's locked up a few times but always rebooted fine.) I still plan to take it in Monday and see if they can find anything (and I also plan to have the spring buffer put it for the "thud" problem).

kuroyama,

I seem to remember a few members saying that they had to eject the DVD and re-insert it (possibly wipe it free of dust). You might want to try that. I don't know that debris on the DVD would make your system lock, but it would be worth a look.

Thanks AtlantaMDX-- that's a good idea. I can at least see if the DVD is dirty.
