I'm thinking about buying a used (i.e. 2005) MDX with HFL and am wondering how this works with multiple handsets. Can I pair multiple (i.e. my wife's phone and my phone) handsets and does it have the intelligence to know what to do when both of us are in the vehicle?

I've done a search on this forum and didn't find an answer.

Thanks.

I have seen somewhere that you first need to do something so the phone and the car will talk and that there can be up to 6 phones recognized. If there are multiple recognized phones in the car, it will only work with the first one that comes into range. Don't remember where I saw this though.....

I have an '06. My wife and I both have our phones paired to the HFL. If she has the car and receives a call, she can answer it with the HFL. If I have the car I can do the same without changing anything.
If we are both in the car and I receive a call, I use the HFL to pick it up. If I make a call from the HFL when we are both in the car, it uses my phone to dial. I can change to her phone by pressing the HFL button and saying "next phone". It will confirm the change with the name of her phone.
I can't honestly say if we are both in the car and my phone is the one linked what happens if she receives a call. I don't think this has occurred but I'd guess we could answer it with HFL.

Life is so confusing when the technology is not working the way its supposed to be or when people expect too much from technology.

Easy- She picks up her phone, and the driver says "Next phone" to the HFL voice recognition.
I have three BT phones, (two personal and a Blackberry), and the hand offs and linking is flawless.

I too have an '06 but having problems with my phone (PPC 6700 PDA with Sprint) while my wife uses the Samsung A900 with no problems other than 2nd incoming call kills current call. What phones do you use so flawlessly, if you don't mind my asking?
