Anyone having issues with the Ipod Musiclink in the 07 like the ones others are having in earlier models? Considering this option and have read about many problems. Yes/No?

I had the dealer install the Ipod attachment on my new 2007. I installed the disc that came with it onto my Ipod by way of my apple computer. What a disappointment.
It does play music from the Ipod through the audio system if you choose AUX - Extention, and you can change songs by pushing the right seek button on your audio controls. But you cannot tell where you are on the Ipod. You cannot choose a song or even a playlist.
This was a waste of money.
I should have just plugged it into the cigarette lighter so I could use the Ipod as normal.
Why do they even offer this?
Does anyone else have the 2007 Ipod attachment? Can you work the Ipod through the controls to navigate to a certain song?
Let me know. Thanks.

Does the Acura music Link take the cd changer functionality away like 3rd party ipod adapters like Dension?

We actually stopped selling the I-Pod connection many months ago and Acura has put a hold on any more. The software does not work like intended. If you have an 07 why don't you just use the port that is now in the car. You will have to use the front of your I-Pod to pick your songs but less hassels then Music Link.

We use the aux, but I like the functionality of using the steering wheel controls like I do with the Dension I have in the BMW. But then again I don't have a CD Changer in the BMW so I didn't lose any functionality. Acura has their IPOD link but wondering if we'll lose the cd changer if we install the IPOD musiclink.

I originally had this option when I ordered my car but Acura stopped selling them for a short while.

I am happy I did not get it and for now burn my MP3's to DVD-R's. The audio system can Tell me the names with Text to Speech and the sound is great. 6 DVD's and my music is all there for the listening.

The 2007 MDX Entertainment/Tech Package does not have an Ipod input. For some reason that is not included. I chose to have them put in the attachment at no extra cost as part of the deal, but I wish I had them add in something different now. Would have been better to plug it into a cigaretter lighter.

The 2007 MDX with the TECH/ENT package DOES have the ability to hook up your I-Pod. You use the input jacks on the center console. You need a two into one RCA plug.

True, but that's not as convienent as having them on the front console. My kids can use it from the back seat, but the Ipod attachment is still a waste of money for anyone thinking of buying one.

Agreed!

Makes you wonder why it's so hard to display it on the nav screen.
Sheesh...you can talk and dial telephone numbers, ask it what time it is, and have it navigate you across the country. But try to find a song on your Ipod seems to be impossibly hard.
Go figure.

Isn't there one inside the front console? ... open up the armrests and look in there ... towards the front I believe there is one.

Nope. No input except in the back for the passengers. And only RCA inputs.

Only in the Entertainment Package though right? There is one there on the other Packages, correct?

yup, base and sport have the aux input in the center consol. If you have the ent. pkg you have to go the RCA route from the rear
