Is anyone using a Motorola Q with there HandsFreeLink and is it working well. I'm thinking of changing to it and would hope it works as well as the PPC6700.
Also is anyone using a PDA phone that has managed to transfer the phonebook. I have a UTStarcom PPC6700 from telus in Canada, it works well but I am unable to transfer the phonebook and/or 1 contact at a time. |

Lucky you! I've got similar PDA (6700) with Sprint and I am having trouble getting it to work with the HandsFreeLink. How functional is yours? Is the phonebook issue your only complaint? Does it accept 2nd call as well? |

Don't know about the second call but all in all the only complaints I had were with the phonebook or contact transfers and the fact that I had to use another software to display the battery life and signal strenght . The phone worked well with the system.
I have since changed to the Moto Q and it was working well with the added function of individual contact transfer which was listed as not possible but since a software upgrade at Motorola it is now not working so well. The handsfree link shut down my phone completely when connecting and disconnecting and when I make calls thru the vehicle it dials then disconnects from the system and I must pick up the handset because the call is still going thru.
I have talked to both companies to find out that they have no relationship with each other and no one accepts responsiblity or is going to fix the problem.
Handsfreelink told me they test they phones once list there findings on the web site and do nothing if there are softare updates that cause problems with there system and have no interaction with any cell phone manufacturers or providers.
It's kinda sad, I was expecting more the way the vehicle was advertised. |
