Well. I test drove the new MDX today after waiting a month to go and look at it. Dealer gave me a quote on the Tech pkg for 43,165...or $1,000 off b/c of an anniversary sale. Dumb me tho. I was thinking Sport pkg and must have said Tech pkg.

So anyways. The deal would still be $1,000 off for any package even after the sale is off since we are returning customers.

Does anyone think that I could squeeze some more out of the deal for a discount of some accessories like all season floor mats, auto mirror and cargo liner?

We will be trading in our 2004 TL with about 16,000 by the time we head back to the dealership in a couple weeks. Trade cash value was 23,000 with a trade difference of 20,165. Total is 21,702 total financing @ 7% interest rate. The finance rate doesn't really matter b/c we might be able to get it cheaper elsewhere and will pry be paid off with a couple months or less.

So does this sound like a good deal?

Trade seems a little low. A 2004 TL w/o navi or the 6-speed in clean condition should get you about $24K. If you've got navi or the 6-speed, or if it is in outstanding condition it should be even higher.

Well it has a couple small door dings from dumb people who don't care about other peoples things. And also a little bit of scrapping on the rims also due to those same people. But yes, it does have the navi. Other than that, it's good. So I think thats why it was a little lower.

You can do better on the financing, I am approved with Capital One for 60 months at 6.00%. I was also able to negotiate the two options I didn't want to install myself at dealer cost (side steps & body side moldings).

$1,000 below msrp sounds really good, but not if it is coming off off the value of your trade. I would suggest Carmax or Auto Nation if you have one near by to get a feel for what it is worth. Remember that if you go that route, you will most probably be liable for more sales tax.

Good luck

Hello there, I am new here, but I just put in an order for a sport/entertainment billet silver with ebony interior which should be here next week.

They also gave me $1000 off MSRP because I was a prior customer but they added on $250 for wheel locks, door edge guard, scotch guard, paint sealant etc.

Also there was the $599 for the customer service packet which includes profit, inspecting and adjusting vehicle, and document fees.

Are these just padded costs for the dealer that can be negotiated, or are they normal fees, especially for a new vehicle that just came out. Is this a good deal?

Thanks
JimH
Yes, they can be negotiated.

thanks for the fast reply...but unfortunately for the high demand here in South Florida, I don't think they will budge.

So they take $1000 off and then add $850 in unnecessary charges, including "Scotch Guard" (on leather?!) and "paint sealant". I can't believe how car dealers continue to pull the oldest shams in the books.

Consider your deal as MSRP and enjoy.
