2007 Playing Movie through Nav Screen - Click HERE for Original Thread

I just purchased a 2007 with the Tech/Entertainment package. I've had other vehicles that have had similar set-ups, but I've always been able to watch the movie on the front nav screen if I have the emergency brake engaged.
Is there a way to make this work? It's just nice to be able to watch on the front screen when waiting for someone who is doing an errand such as shopping.

As a side note, I have not been able to get my DVD player to work even for the re-seat passengers. I tried it for the first time last night and the screen will not come on. Only a few days old and it's in for repairs.

They told me they PDI'd it, but the same day they received the car, I took it home. They were in such a rush to get me the car, they didn't pull off a lot of the plastic in the rear passenger area. Makes me wonder how well they did on the PDI.

The RES fuse does not come plugged in from the factory and can be forgotten on a PDI. Open the small fusebox under the hood and see if it's missing.

Interesting you should say this. When I was first looking through the car with the salesman, I found a fuse in the glove compartment. He said it must be an extra. The same day the car came in, they did the PDI, cleaned it and gave me the keys. I didn't need the car that day, but I could tell they wanted to get the sale on their books.

They have already been looking at the car for quite a few hours and believe there is a major electrical problem. They are in communication with Acura tech support.

I just called the dealer and told them what you posted here. I hope you're right. I will let you know. It makes perfect sense.

Thanks!

It's fixed, but they said it was a loose wire. If it was a fuse, I'm not sure they would have admitted it.
Nice to have it working though.
Thanks for the advice.

I also just purchased a 2007 MDX Sport ENT... I am looking to do the same thing as you, play DVD videos on the NAV screen... www.pie.net offers solutions for the 03-06 MDX... I've been told that they are currently doing the R&D for the 2007s... I am currently searching for other companies that make NAV/DVD (video) integration kits... if you find one before I do... pass me the info... I'll do the same. CONGRATS on the new MDX!

Well congats on yours.

I'm going to take mine in to have the backup sensors installed (for my wife) at an auto accessory shop. I'll ask them if they have any ideas. They installed a backup camera and rear sensors for my 2005 Sequioa (prior to getting totaled) and they seem to know what these Nav systems are capable of. Could be just a pin that needs to be moved or jumper wire. I will let you know.

I'm also going to have them install a toggle switch that will allow me to turn on the backup camera so I could look at anything I'm towing.
