Hello,
2001 MDX Touring/Navi with 57k miles here. I've had the rumble strip problem for a while now. Thought I could live with it, but I'm getting sick and tired of driving a luxury SUV and feel the rumble and having to lay off the pedal just to get it to stop!
I want to know if any of you out there have gotten a "Goodwill" tranny replacement in the NY/NYC area. (Long Island/Queens/Brooklyn included as well)
The dealers here are not too friendly of give out too much "Goodwill" so I thought I'd ask to save myself the frustration of dealing with unsavory service people that is often seen in dealers in my area.
I only have 57k miles and my tranny is going. This is ridiculous. I feel like I paid a lot of money for nothing.
On a recent trip, my Navi went crazy. Now all it does is restart over and over again. I have to take out the darn DVD just to get the trip computer to show up!
Please help!!! |

Tranny replacement "goodwill" comes from Acura - not the dealer. If the dealer gives you a problem, then ask to speak directly with the area Acura rep. Good luck. |

Not sure how this is good news for me. Did you deal with a dealer in NY?
...or are you talking about the fact that you got something fixed out of goodwill? |

Did you go there for a transmission problem or was this something else? |

OK, I get it now. Sorry. Didn't initially understand this.
I'm glad it wasn't a serious problem for you, but I think mine is a transmission problem, and many other have the same type of problem, often described as "rumble strip", "shuttering", etc.
Mine seems to happen when I have been driving the MDX for a while and it is fully warmed up. It does not exhibit the symptoms when it is cold. Mostly it'll happen when I've been on the highway a while then take the exit, then onto regular roads. Then at times depending on the speed and the pressure on the pedal I feel like I am driving over a rumble strip...the MDX starts to "vigbrate" and I have to lay off the gas to get it to stop doing that. |
