| I took my Nav DVD out of the navi system thinking i was gonna clean the laser lens. While doing that, my son took my DVD and pretty much scratched it up. Im trying to duplicate my friend's DVD from his 01 MDX. Is there a special way to copy it? |

| It can be done, just with varying degress of success based on the software used, the blank media used, the burner used, and the speed at which it is read/burned. There are so many variables that what works for one person may not work for another. |

| Ive tried tried using the straight up "Disc Copy" command on Nero. Still no luck. Is there a recommended program I should use? Ive tried it on both DVD-R and DVD+R discs. Im figuring the navi disc are copy protected and they need to be copied in a special way. |

| It won't work, Nav discs are PTP format while DVD's are OTP format. |

I'm successfully running a burned back-up copy of my v2.40 disc in my '02 TL so it can be done by the home consumer.
And please don't ask me how to do it--if you search enough on the Internet you can piece together enough to figure it out. |

Hey Guys:
[I'm a newbie here, so I'm hoping this ends up in the proper forum as a reply.]
I successfully burned a backup of my Navi disk for my 2006 MDX. I was getting ready to try out the "OK" button hack and created a modified backup of my original.
Here's what I used:
Software - Nero ver 7.x in DVD copy/duplication mode.
Burner Hardware - Plextor 716SA Dual-Layer DVD drives.
Media - Memorex DVD+R Dual-Layer 8.5GB Recordable Discs
In my experience, this isn't any special configuration.
I hope this information helps. |
