Without the security code I'm wondering where the e-bay seller got the unit. I also don't know if there is a plug and play wiring harness already in your '01. I would think an easier route to go would be to purchase a new, after-market unit, such as the Garmin Nuvi 660 or similar (there are many out there) and go with that. Much less hassle. Costco has their Nuvi 360 on sale thru the 27th and you can't beat their warranty if you don't like it. Installation is a breeze and has blue tooth capability. If you like a challenge go with your original idea. Personally, with all the new units out there now I just don't think the effort would be worth it.
Just my .02, and GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide. |

| ..is with a portable unit you could move it from car to car with ease, and when you sell your car you can keep the unit. Just something to consider. |

save yourself a whole lot of agravation and go w/ an aftermarket unit for alpine, kenwood, etc.. you will still have a 7 inch touchscreen, full nav, plus bluetooth, siruis or xm of you want it, plus better sound than factory...
or you could do what i'm planning for my ridgeline... a carputer
