|
|

| so, i take it the RDX has been kicked outta the garage? |
|

| andreseng |
| Congrats. But what happened? Last thing I saw was this. |
|
|
| Fabvsix |
Yes for now the RDX got the boot till I decided whether to store the RL for the winter and make room for the RDX.
There is an old saying..."never say never".....they countered with a deal I couldn't pass..... |

| I almost posted a response to your "As I woke this morning, I decided to pass on the offer. Thanks for all you guys advise!" message yesterday. I was going to say that I made the same decision, but ended up with one a few weeks later any way. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am enjoying mine. |

| Wow, Fab, Acura must love guys like you. I traded in my problem-free RL for the 07 Sport in formal black/bordeaux, so I guess I'm a Honda/Acura nut myself. Congrats! |
|
|
| Fabvsix |
I thought the Bordeau looked awful by way of pictures posted here, but when I saw it in person I would have gotten that color but supply was limited.....Oh well BLACK ON BLACK it is .....
FAB backwards is BLACK ACURA FREAK ! :p
Yes my dealership extends royal red carpet for me......great investment too !
Tim I'll be contacting you for some goodies once I have time to get her funky Zainotized........:2: |

Talk about doing a complete 180 . . .
Congrats on the impulse buy, I guess the '05 Mdx never had a chance . . .
Must be the (ragin) Cajun blood . . . ;) |

Not surprising as you did that with the last MDX, I recall. BTW, congrats. I was at the Acura dealer today and I must say the new MDX is growing on me and seems much more substantial than my 04/06. |

Huh, is there even such thing as a winter in Ca. Give me a break. This is from a Canadian who knows winter. |

| I don't think you can compare the new MDX to the 1st generation MDX's......Different animal (SH-AWD, Sport shift mode >big grin<, sportier, HID headlights >mine has leveling<, power tailgate, awesome stereo system without the rattleing sub, Superior Voice NAVI, no slushy brakes and sloshing gas tank noise) it just goes on and on Ladies and Gentleman, just no comparo in my opinion. If Acura sold them below MSRP the dealerships couldn't handle the work load as it took them 3 hours to get me in and out of there. BTW the place was packed with customers buying new Acura's till 8 p.m........A very good sign....:1: :1: |

Fab,
After seeing your posts I got my **** together and made room in my garage for my X. Next I'm getting rid of the motorcycles so I'll have room for your RL or the RDX if you need a place for it. I won't drive it too much.
I still haven't seen a new MDX on the road. I'm sorta surprised since where I live $40-80K cars are a dime a dozen. If no one takes me up on my offer of a ride to Tahoe this weekend, I may just have to stop in Oakley and see what yours looks like.
Anyone want a Yamaha R6 track bike with about 1000 miles on the engine? Or a 2002 VFR800 with some scratches on one side? I need to make room for Fab's spare car. |

|   ;) |

That is because most of those people is too snobby to be seen on a lowly Acura. They are more interested in being seen on a Q7 or a GL450 :D

Very nice, congratulations Fab.
You mentioned all the added features and improvements. My only experience with 07 so far was one that happened to be unlocked at the dealer late one night. But just looking at and touching this thing, it somehow seems waaay better than my 04. The materials looked and felt better. The wheels look softer, yet tougher. The door thud alone was music to my ears.
Can't wait to see more pics. :)
By the way, you're like me. I'd like to take a car still plastic-wrapped, but then my wife would find out I'm crazy. :4:  :ucrazy: |

What is facinating is the "CD's" they give you when you purchase the vehicle. That unviels ALL the secrets that the sales folks don't tell you about. It is a facinating machine esp the Active Damper system on the Sport model coupled with SH AWD to mention a few.....Those who said "I don't feel a difference from sport to comfort" watch the CD to further understand how that system works....Basically is most effective on "rough" surfaces and makes it smooth as I understand it.....but who wants to drive over pot holes in our new MDX's ???????????????????????????????? That is what that features corrects......quite awesome.....I nearly froze my butt off washing it yesterday as it was barely 50 degrees.....(I know Blev is laughing now...... ) I just finished removing all the interior plastic and put the floor matts in.....what a pain in the rear with all that plastic.......Zaino kit is in the mail and Lexol is next for the interior.....Pictures forth coming......This coming Saturday I'm hosting a "Turducken" feast for my friends, so perhaps Sunday I be back at the interior......:4: :4: :1:
Oh and the sport mode shifting is REALLY nice...Sincere what are you waiting for ????? |

| I would say, statically speaking the new 07 MDX out surpass the 07 Lexus RX interior and exterior qualities. Don't you guys agree...??? |
|
|
| Fabvsix |
| Honestly I never looked at one as I'm a die hard HONDA fan since 1984 to present. Previous models look too girlish to me, soft and wimpy..... |

Maybe, only because Lexus quality has taken a dive. At the auto show last year I noticed a HUGE difference. Quality went south on both Lexus and Toyota imo. |

No freakin' way, I'd pit the interior/exterior fit & finish quality of my IS350 to any TL, Tsx or Accord out there. The IS interior is also better than the 3 series, altho maybe not quite yet better than MB's C class. I haven't been inside the '07 Mdx yet, but I doubt that its superior to the GX, maybe equal to or as nice, but not better . . . |

Hard to say that if you do not know for sure. That said the new X interior is very luxurious, but maybe not quite the GX quality, but look at the price difference. |

....this black looks great again, even naked in the garage. maybe someone reading up in canada is colder, but single digits here this week. thank god for a heated garage once i get back with mine (and it will be all filthy).
imo, i like the mdx interior over the lexus, but then again, i was far from impressed with the lexus in general when i drove it.... |

Which Lexus model are you referring to? |
|
|
| zgaspen |
| I was referring to both the GX and the LX, which are, really, totally different vehicles to that of the MDX to really compare. I've never driven the RX as that car is totally not for me. The GX and LX handle well, but for mountain roads I really want something that is exceptional on the corners. If the MDX didn't exist, I'd get the new Range Rover Sport. |

Range Rover has nothing but problems... It its consider unreliable, unless you like to spend much of your time at the dealer for repairs or maintenance, then ignore.
The LEXUS GS and LX models are a terrain SUV. But nothing is more exceptional then a corner road handling SH-AWD MDX. |

not true on the new Range Rover Sport. Everyone I know who has them have no problems whatsoever. Now the regular RR , esp a 2002 or early, you're just asking for trouble.
while I say no problems on the RRS, the chances are that you may...but in my case with an awesome dealer who will come pick your car up for service and leave you the same model the risk i thought was less.
don't know why i'm supporting the brand though -- my MDX will be ready for pickup in the AM, clearly a much better car all around! |
