My Back Up Camera was not working when I got my car and they orderd a new one the day I got my car and it was installed a week later.
Now I noticed a couple of things about it.
First, it takes about 15 seconds for it to work after starting. My 04 MDX would work right away after starting the car. Now I start the car put it in reverse and must wait about 15 seconds before it works. It sure seem slike a long wait.
The other thing is the quality is much worse that my 04 camera with washed out colors.
Has anyone notices either of these on there 07 camera?______
I do think the viewing are is enlarged when the camera is on. |

I have also noticed the delay on mine when you first start the car. I don't think it is 15 seconds, but it is definitely longer than my 03 which was almost immediate.
The NAV screen in general looked rather washed out compared to my last MDX. I was able to fix it by adjusting the black level, contrast, and brightness. The 03 did not have the black level and contrast adjustments. The screen looks great now for both NAV and the rear camera. |

My '05 had the same problem - seems like once the carputer starts booting no interrupts are allowed so the shift into reverse isn't recognized until the boot is complete (even tho the passenger outside mirror "kneels"). Same goes for trying to get the radio screen up.
I "solved" the problem by shifting into reverse IMMEDIATELY (if not sooner) after starting the engine. This immediately means as quick as possible. Seems this immediate shift is recognized before the boot process cues interrupts for later processing. |

i've had no problems to speak of. actually, i think the camera resolution on this generation is better than all three of my other MDX's, but then that could be the new car smell that's affecting my vision ;)
like blevins mentioned, if you put it into reverse immediately, the NAV screen goes to camera mode almost instantaneously. |

| I have not noticed a delay in my backup camera, and I'm pretty picky about those things. The NAV takes a bit to boot up and show me the OK screen. You may want to have the dealer check that out..I bet it is some kind of software issue with the nav booting up. I've got an 07 sport/ent. |

| after 10 days now mine is slower also. it's not a problem as a few extra seconds in my book before i start backing up is a good idea. after it has been on once however it comes back on immediately when placed in reverse....when the lenses are clean, this option works great. |
