Yesterday me and my girlfriend went back down to our local dealership so she could test drive the new MDX. Needless to say she was impressed. Last time we drove a Sport package, but this time it was only a base model, since they were all out of the Sports. (Dave the salesman said that any of them with the Sport or RES were hard to keep in stock.)

I thought the ride was nice. I dunno if it was just me trying to justify getting the Sport package, but it seemed like the ride was just a bit better with the Sport, but maybe it was just b/c I knew it was there. Riding in the passenger seat felt just as good as in the drivers seat. Didn't really do any other checking out of the vehicle since when we were down there 2 weeks ago we looked and messed with everything.

Deal came down to $1,000 msrp. The dealership didn't have any in Aberdeen Green(my girl was set on this color, but I wanted the Steel Blue which I think is super sexy. The dealership didn't have any of the Blue's in stock for her to check out either.) We ended up with the Tech package, b/c the Navi is a must, and plus it looks more impressive, esp. at night time when people see a big glowing screen.

Our dealership has to contact another dealership which has the Abby green coming in, and do a a trade for it. So hopefully by this time next week, We'll have it.

We are going to get a few accessories such as all season floor mats, Cargo Liner, and Wheel locks, and possibly cargo tray for our dog. Dave said that he can work with us on pricing for the accessories. I doubt any of those listed other than wheel locks would be hard to "install."

Dave worked with us when we bought our 04 TL brand new, right before the 2005's came out. He did a great job then, and great job this time. I guess it should be expected since that's how he makes his money is to sell every car possible. I would recommend dealing with dave. Anyone else here from Iowa?

So how much did Dave make in commission on selling us the MDX??

just a suggestion. Get your accessories from Hondacuraworld or handa. It would save you a ton than getting it from the dealer.

Yea. I was actually thinking that. From what I've read Tim is a real good guy around here. Helping everyone out with some good prices on accessories. I'll just ask and see if Dave can make us the same deal or not.

Crazy this topic has been viewed a ton, but only 1 reply. Makes me sad. Leave some comments everyone.

Cheer up, man. You've got lots of reasons to be joyful. Let's see, you're alive and well and able to type as of 9:29 p.m.; you've got a girlfriend; you now have, or soon will be in possession of an amazing vehicle; you've got a girlfriend (did I mention that already) and an SUV with lots of room. You're happy, your GF is happy, Acura is happy, Dave is happy. Who cares what he made in commission? :2:

looking forward to some pics!

I would push hard on the accessories...get them added in with no increase in price - I found several dealers willing to do that, including the one I eventually bought from. Remember the price you pay to an online accessory retailer does not include installation. I could not tell from your email, looks like 1000 under MSRP - that's pretty good right now, I think.

I think the roof rack and crossbars are nice, and I like the directional R/V mirror.

No way you should pay for wheel locks or a cargo mat. Just my .02;)

Agree the steel blue is cool taupe interior is nice as well...

I have to add that Tim from Hondacuraworld is a excellent guy to work with. There was a mix up in my order and he did everything he could to make me happy.

I didn't put a penny down, just picked up the phone and said "get me a black on black loaded Sport model" and call me when you have it ready for pick up......That is what you get when you use the "SAME" dealership for Service and Sales.....Great investment!

Enjoy your ride!
