Saturday at a light on a derserted street two young guys were drooling over my new MDX. I frequent this street often and know it well....So I put her in "sport" mode (shifter that is.....). Light turned green and off I went not even with a WOT and handed them their behind at the next light. They were both is amazement as well as myself......I rolled the window down and said "don't under estimate the new MDX" and off I went in giggle snitz mode........This vehicle is PLEANTY powerful and I only have 180 miles on the odo.......can't wait for 601 miles.........:D :D :D :D :D
Sport mode vs. Comfort mode......I read often that no one can notice a difference.....well it will take more than a quick test ride to REALLY notice the difference. He is what I recommend:
A. play the cd that comes with the vehicle as they explain the Active Damper System better than any salemans..
B.Go slowly over a speed bump in both modes, you'll feel the difference.
C. Drive over a ruff surface in both modes, you'll feel the difference
If you are driving down the freeway on a test drive and you push that button from Comfort to Sport don't expect to notice much.......
Hope this helps !
This is ONE FINE machine! :1: :1: :1: |

To be honest the acceleration in the new MDX is... acceptable. It's not fast (0-60 in 7.1 seconds or something like that) and the sports mode shouldn't really make a difference if you are just drag racing (or going from stop light to stop light in a straight line).
It's a good vehicle, but to be honest I don't think it's been turning many heads where I'm driving (east bay as well). Crossover SUV's are nice... but they attract slightly more attention then a sweet minivan. |

| I get folks looking at is everytime I hit the streets for an errand. Even my nosy neibhbors are caught looking at it.....Black on Black always gets more attention in my opinion.......Also there are good drivers and bad drivers......I never said it was the FASTEST out there......I'm sure Comptech is working on a "Turbo/Super Charger" for this beast........Driver weight plays a big part too! ;) |

| Well it does. If the driver is small/petite as opposed to a large person there goes a few seconds on the clock.....No pun was intended..... |

I have only seen one on the road, and it caught my attention. Of course I am a Honda freak and any new Honda gets my attention, especially the new X. |

Are you serious? You don't honestly believe the MDX is "rocket" do you? The MDX is OK at best in terms of power. The vehicle is so FWD biased that it does not really drive well nor does it feel strong. Get behind the wheel of a X5 4.8 or Cayenne Turbo, those are more of a "rocket". Heck today I got beat by a Civic Si, yes I know, two different animals. In terms of attention, I think most people look at my MDX with a look of "what is that" rather then "WOW, new MDX"...heck I get A LOT more stares in my BMW M6 or my wife's Escallade :D
Cool vehicle nontheless, happy motoring. |

| Over the weekend I rode in my friends 07 trailblazer SS. That is much faster than the MDX. |

Given that the 0-60 performance of the new 300hp MDX is at most average among mid-size SUV today, I think Fabvsix meant to give us some reviews of the Sports vs. Comfort suspension, rather than saying MDX is a drag racer champ !
(the above quoted statement can probably also be frequently found on the
Jeep SRT-8 and Trailblazer SS forums :D ) |

I guess an M6 would get many looks, as there are so few and they are awesome, however despite this I prefer the M5, and the Escalade, that is just one BLING vehicle, I guess it would get stares. BTW, with those 2 vehicles, why do you have an X. |

First of all, no insult was intended. Yes I've driven the 07 MDX, I own one. Sport/Entertainment. Just got the night/day rearview mirror and sport running boards installed, Blk/Blk.
The Cayenne I was referring to the Turbo version but the V8 version is noticeably torquier than the MDX.
The X was puchased as my winter vehicle, the Escallade is the wife's and refuses to give it up. |
