I thought I'd post a pic of my wife's MDX. She wanted the "fridge" look, so I went for bold split 5 spokes, color matched Tafetta. The project is finally done and we couldn't be happier! I always look back and stare at this car. Looks very clean and sporty, and I've never seen a white-on-white SUV.
I snagged the wheels off Ebay. They are forged Volks. 19", weigh 22lbs, and are very thick. I purchased the wheels for $1100 + $100 shipping. The seller owned his own shop, and everything checked out, but I was sweating bullets thinking about getting ripped off for that much money. But in two weeks they showed up. Not a scratch on them! They had nearly brand new 35 series tires on them (for his Lexus) I sold those tires for $300 and purchased some 255 Toyos. I also spent $200 for a PPG paint job, and got some hub-centric rings and new hardware. The painter thought I was nuts because the factory silver was perfect. These wheels had a retail price of $750 per rim and wholesale was about $530. Needless to say - I was jumping up and down over the score, and they are a great size and style for the X.
You can also see the exhaust I built peaking out. Hondas and Acuras have rear ends that beg to have a pretty exhaust. I took welding classes, bought a MIG and a bottle of tri-gas, and a cut-off saw, and made my own catback exhaust. It turned out to be much harder than I thought! It is 2.5", 100% stainless (even flanges and welds) and uses two canisters. The sound is deeper and "mean" but still very quiet. Has a great purr... it looks and sounds very impressive on the X, but admittedly the welds are ugly up close. MIGing thin stainless with no experience was an adventure! |

drader,
That is one nice looking white-on-white MDX. Just a suggestion...try replacing the thin BSM's with the wider BSM's to give your ride an updated look.:29: |
