Holiday Ecard question - Click HERE for Original Thread

I decided to send out an Ecard to friends and bus associates rather then a a traditional card. I was prompted to do this as I began recieving a few from bus contacts that had a note attached stating that money was donated to a charity (I assume with the money saved on cards & postage). I did the same and donated to the Katrina Fund. The card that I chose from Plaxo was a very cool fifty's retro card (great color scheme) that had two martini glasses w/ skewered olives along with the typical "seasons greetings/happy new year" stuff. I also had a note about my donation along with a very genuine note wishing everyone the usual stuff etc. The card just looked cool and I didn"t really think about the martini glass and what that imply's (alcohol). After sendng this out to a bunch of contacts, I began to have second thoughts about the martini glass and went with a more traditional card for the remainder of my contacts.

Anyway, please check out link and let me know if you think this card was OK to use. BTW, doesn't have my personal message.

Danpat,

Your intentions were good. However, I bet MADD or the ACLU might take offense with your card. Merry Christmas.

Nothing wrong with your choice of card. It's what I plan to be doing with my loved one on New Year's Eve! The symbol of champagne glasses is synonymous with celebrating the New Year (only fools will assume they must be filled with alcohol). Relax and forget about the "PC" bullsh*t that's infecting this country. :7:

Thanks for your feedback and I agree that the glasses are symbolic and should not offend. I thought about the champagne glasses as well.
